mcswizzle#tipyourlifty seriously though give your lifty a buck or a beer or something. Been thinking about having a Tip Your Lifty Day to celebrate those hardy souls that stand outside all day serving up the fun. Anyone else tryin to get behind this?

OregonDeadI like to give out Swedish fish to the mountain ops crew
DummyBearsWould be interested to here what strange questions people on here have gotten as lifties as working with the public is both thankless and hilarious at the same time.

SendyMcSendyfaceCustomer looks at lift sign, which clearly states our hours of operation. Looks at me. Looks back at sign. Back at me. "What time do you guys close?"
Fuck sakes.
"Are there any easy runs?" Look at the fucking bigass trail map Karen.
"Why is it so foggy at the top, can I ride the chair back down?" So somehow you managed to miss all the bigass signs at the bottom talking about the crazy low vis. No, you can't download, the cattrack is on your left.
Just bring us beer and we'll be happy.

It's an interesting take on how to answer questions like what you posted.
shinbangclanWhat can we do to make your lives easier? For example you guys are always shoveling snow onto that platform. Do you want me to bring more? Or are you just doing that cause you're bored?
SegsxiWhen I was a liftie I would build igloos or features close to the lift station simply out of boredom any new snow on a spring day is nice (the Ramps need constant fixin in spring when the snow is melting) but definitely not on POW days when there is so much snow that we don’t know what to do with.
I’d say the biggest favor anyone can do is just don’t be a Karen/ snitch and tell on us when we want to be comfortable in the lift shack; most people can load Quads by themselves and we will be able to calculate when someone might struggle and we will be attentive but we literally would stand there 8hrs a day at our stations; and if you worked remote access lifts like I did you’d see the exact same people every 30 min- 1hr so i’d just what’s up at least 2-3 times throughout the day but saying Hey every time was a little extra especially when I know a lot of folks just enjoy the vibe; the quiet; and are simple soul shredders.
SkylineGTR_R32I always say thanks when they swing the chair. The guy that works the main lift where I ski is a coked out bitch this year tho. Like fuck you man I know when to stop and go and you don’t need to scream HERE WE GO every fucking time the chair accelerates onto the cable. He always goes like “I know you like goofing around on the hill but behave on the lift”. Oh because I’m a park skier I’m some misbehaving child? Fuck you. Like I legit just got my earbuds in chilling in line and he tells me to behave? WTF bro go take a rip and calm the fuck down.
