Whenever I picture a drunk asshole on the mountain he’s wearing Virtika and follows David Lesh on social media. Any further comments?
Fuck Virtika, and Fuck Newschoolers. Lesh is currently banned from public land, the same land that every western skier uses on a daily basis. Then Newschoolers goes ahead and sells all morals and ethics for a few bones from this morally bankrupt company?
Newschoolers needs to stand up for skiers and the public land we all love. I can't believe how far this site has fallen. It's no longer the heart and soul of skiing, and is instead some excel sheet to a NY Wall Street office that has 0 interest in the ski world.
Quaggy"Nessecary resource extraction vital to our survival."
Sounds like extreme entitlement to me.
"It's nessecary for those 5 year olds to mine tungsten, and tin because I need the newest iPhone! Who cares about those Congolese, their suffering and blatant violation of human rights is vital to our survival!"
Did you go to Clown School? Because you're looking like Bobo Barnett, a fucking CLOWN. This isn't nessecary for survival.
Did you even read my comment JFC. Do I need to also explain how supply chains work and the necessary technology to enable them? Also LOL for just going for the very original cherry picking argument of "CeLl PhOnEs ArE eViL" completely missing the irony of it being posted in a NS comment....
Like what even is your point, go a head and deface public lands because 3rd world countries are being exploited?

My point is:
It's laughable people are upset and refuse to support a company owned by a man that walked on a log and shit in a lake, but when it comes to humanitrian rights violations and slave labor, y'all turn a blind eye.
There are more pressing issues that deserve more attention and awareness.
I'm sure a majority of NewSchoolers have "defaced public land" by shitting in a body of water/the forest and going off trail while hiking.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quaggy"Oh look!! Another Virtika hate thread, lemme jump on the bandwagon and provide free advertisement for this company I don't like!!"
You'd be hard pressed to find better gear for the price when they do a ~50-60% off sale.
Why doesn't it sell out at full price everytime then?
Dang my man, get outside more!
You mean to tell me when you're backpacking or camping, you don't shit in the woods? 20 miles in, no plumbing...? I applaud your bowels.
You also mean to tell me you've never ducked a rope or poached a lap through a closed park...? I'd equate that to going off trail.
As easy as it is to make fun of this brand, you guys are advertising for free. We should honestly just be talking about other doper brands every time someone makes a thread like this.
Trew is fun and the people are rad - the gear is solid and they invest money in education and representation and shred content. They have big sales every year too - can pick up a quality 3L shell for like $260.
Flylow has a massive selection of 50% off gear every year - got my bakers for like $200 and they’re so bomber. Again, a company that reinvests in our sport.
Armada went PFC free on their shells this year - small moves but in the right direction. Don’t even need to point out how much they support the ski community (Kimbo, etc).
Patagonia obviously are leaders in recycling and environmental ethos - buying their shit literally does the opposite of subsidizing a douchebag with disregard for his customers and their futures on this planet.
In my mind there’s no reason to compromise and buy mediocre gear for cheap that has a potential larger cost for my own livelihood and those I care about. Pretty easy to find a respectable company that puts out solid gear for a decent price.
.Roockley.Why doesn't it sell out at full price everytime then?
You gotta read my post again Boss:
"You'd be hard pressed to find better gear for the price when they do a ~50-60% off sale."
Implying their gear is not worth the full ~$300 price tag, but it's hard to beat when its 50-60% off.
Ok, boss. His point is it was never ever worth those jacked up prices. So that’s not a 50-60% sale. That’s what they are worth.

Stay the trail, pack in/pack out and leave no trace. It's how to not be a jackass gaper on public lands 101 my dude
SimonBartikI believe youre very wrong. Jibberish supports Strictly crew and some other dope skiers. On the other hand pretty much everyone good who was on the Virtika team has left them. The reason might be they only pay shitty adds instead of actually helping out their riders. I have to say I was pretty pissed earlier when they even used and edited some scenes from Lord of the Rings as an advertisment. That was wack as fuck, dont touch my favourite movie ever again. But hey, who am I to judge.
So why is the strictly crew asking for people to donate money so they can buy a van hahaha? Jiberish has never given a dime to anybody that rode for them. Their company is so miss managed. They had a store on Newbury street where rent starts at 25K a month basically which almost bankrupted them and same with their store in Park City. They went from 3 stores to none, never mind their sizing fiasco when their new manufacturer had XXL fit like a medium/Large. The whole season had all the sizing incorrect. Not trying to bash them just stating facts, same goes with companies like Saga etc.
All these small companies are very similar, give out clothes in return for free advertising and marketing at basically zero cost.

I admire you're willingness to pack out your own feces.
I'll keep digging my holes tho. The environmental impact of my shit, 20 miles from the nearest road, 1 foot deep, and thousands of feet from the nearest water source is... Significantly less than the environmental impact of plastic bags.
I'm all for pack in/pack out, but there is something to be said about one use plastics my man.
Where do you think that plastic bag, impervious to decomposition, containing biological waste actually goes...? Same place all other plastics go. Land fills and the ocean.

Why are you shitting in a body of water? Dig a hole a few hundred feet away, and shit in that you animal.

I don't think NS make as money as you think. Talking above my pay grade here but I don't anyone stricking it rich through this site. See the thread about merch if you need an example of budget tightness here. Any ad revenue that keeps twig writing reviews and cy drawing cartoons is good by me. I don't like Virtika but do not in the least think ns should turn away their revenue.

You're a Kook. Also the fact that you think this website makes money is hilarious.

Upon further research: Pooping in the ocean while surfing is hotly debated. Of course you paddle a few hundred yards from the lineup but... That was the example I was going for.
Giardia and cholera ain't a joke in streams and rivers tho.

It was owned by TEN: Enthusiast Network. TEN was sold to American Media Inc which is headquartered in the former JP Morgan Chase headquarters.
I think my comment about this site being ran by Wall Street and not by people that give an actual fuck about the actual ski industry is pretty true. If NS weren't so cheap to run, this site would be going the way of Transworld and Powder (both also owned by AMI).

You think AMI sells ads to viritka lol NS sales team handles endemic ads brother and the owners of NS do not interfere with NS operations, NS has been operated as part of an action sports hub which included powder and transworld as well, AMI doesn't touch this site they just take the profits.

That's even more disappointing. At least if it were AMI you could blame them for not knowing that Virtika should be shunned until they clean house of Lesh (or shuts down which is more likely since I'm assuming that Lesh is the majority owner).

Lesh has been advertising on NS for the better part of a decade and I doubt NS is gonna say no to his renewal every year.

What do you mean? @eheath made millions when he sold the site
NS has every right to take lesh’s dumbass money and we have every right to never buy a single product of theirs again and remind everyone we know how trash Virtika is
