Replying to Laser Pointer

I was just using a laser pointer playing around with my cat and an idea popped into my head: high power/quality laser pointers could be super handy for communicating with your partners when scoping out hits, landings and run outs. I know I've had touring partners that are simply incapable of recognizing and communicating the hits, landings & runouts in question to give proper feedback. I feel if I had a laser pointer it could really solve this problem; has anyone ever try this?
