ON3P Magnus...?

Yo yo

I know I know another what’s up with this ski question... I used to be all in on skiing, took a few years off because of school/life/whatever but looking to get back into. Haven’t skied since 2016 after getting 20+ days each season. For my last few seasons I had Kartel 96s, I loved them. Even as I transitioned out of park more I still loved them. Currently looking at skis and I’m lost. I’d like to go back to ON3P and the Magnus reminds me of what the Kartel was.

Located on the East Coast. My buddy and I like to just rip around everywhere and have fun. He’s getting back into it to and park likely won’t be on the agenda much. Is the Jeffrey more of what I should be looking at? I just loved the Kartel. In my 20s, 6 ft, 210ish fwiw. Granted I’ve put on some weight since I last skied the Kartels.

Any advice would be awesome. I’m probably leaving out some stuff, it’s been a while.

As far as I know, the Jeffery is more all mtn but can still rip the park and the Magnus is pretty much just park. The 102s might handle slushy or pow conditions a little better than the 90s. I have a pair of Magnus 90s and i can say they are amazing for park but I don't rip around the mtn much in them.

Word, thanks. Yea looking at 102s for mainly all mountain stuff.

The Jeffrey IS the kartel FYI. Sure there have been a few changes to the all mountain/freestyle segment, but the Jeffrey targets the same design intent that the kartel did. The magnus line is softer and has a slightly more forward mount point.

also On3p added a 102 Jeffrey width this year, which is probably the sweet spot if you live in CO, IMO, for all mountain playful charging/you like a wider ski. Utah and pnw could go 102/108 depending on what you like to ski.

If I recall correctly they get progressively stiffer as width increases.

If you aren't spending most of your time in the park go for the Jeffs like mentioned above they are the same as the kartels. I have had both the Magnus 102 and the Jeff 96 and I don't spend much time in the park anymore and the edge detune on the Magnus makes it perfect for the park but not all mountain. Super fun ski though. I still daily the Jeffs and I love that ski so much.
