Sweet Protection Helmet Advice

The dial system failed on my son's Switcher Helmet after a mild crash. He's considering purchasing a new one since he loves the fit, ventilation and he has the audio chips. Anyone else have issues with the dial system? Crash didn't seem hard enough to break it.

use sweet protection for white water kayaking but man, gotta be honest, smith maze is the way to go on the hill. it protects your dome and i end up using headphones underneath instead of the audio chips like sweet protection has. no diss on SP they are awesome just a smith guy!

If it was a fairly serious crash, you probably need to replace it

Wasn't serious crash. Just fell back trying to land back flip. Just a bonk. Helmet was still under warranty and got $ back from retailer. Shopping for a new one- thus the search for advice

Seems the SP fits his head well. We'll check out the Maze though. What do you like about it? Have you had it withstand a head smack.
I'd rather the helmet break than his noggin, but sure seems like it should hold up through some bonks. I saw video of his "crash". It wasn't much- something I would expect to happen 10-15 times this season as he attempts new flips/ airs and doesn't nail the landing.

yeha no diss on SP again they are dope helmets. smith just fits well and can/will take a beating. theyre pretty popular among park skiers nowadays (at least on the west coast). and yes they withstand the hand smack. even do pretty gnarly head grinds if you want.

I’d consider replacing the helmet after a bad crash I’d also make sure you get one with mips. It’s always good to consider other brands but if he likes the sp and it fits him well and you’ve got the money for one they don’t make bad helmets

The bacl straps/dials on Sweet Protection products really need to be re worked. Their whitewater helmet has a plastic backstrap that also breaks way to easily. Sick helmet otherwise.
