What’s the deal with the K2 Sight

I always overlooked this ski. Just seemed like an easy one to overlook and not worth the effort. I couldn’t even find good reviews on it. Shit, I didn’t realize it was full sidewall until recently (I thought it was cap like the press).

But now, it seems like it’s growing in popularity.So what is the Deal with it? I always got noodle vibes. Maybe it’d be nice to see a roofbox on the sight.

As biased as it is I have always over looked almost all k2 skis, I suppose I should take a look at the sight, marksman and reckoner. I don’t know why but I just never viewed them as good quality skis or even skis targeted to the more advanced skiers in general.

Yeah I’ve obviously seen people riding them, I’ve just never looked into them or read reviews on them. I’ll definitely be taking a look now.

I definitely had a period where I overlooked K2. After my pinnacle 110 boots fell apart, I really took the Chinese production stuff to heart (even though I had some k2 Sidestashs that were killing). I had my eyes on some marksman skis via k2 reps I knew but then I was broke and then I got really into handmade. Cue me going full circle and being too cheap with skis and realizing how great the poachers are. I was very close to getting some poachers, but I found some revolt 95s for $150 cheaper (that one I don’t regret)

Seemed to me that the sights were often around the same price as the poachers, so I can’t see what the appeal is.

Just got the sight. Gonna be riding it later this week. Will let you know how it is. It is my first "adult" park ski cause I just grew and used to use the poacher jr.

The sight is not as wide so that is part of the difference. Also a pretty big difference in the shape of the ski.

I had a few pairs growing up, it used to be a pretty stiff “comp” type ski that was fire for jumps and icy pipe walls. Skiing back then wasn’t as flowy and new wave wasn’t really a thing so that’s what the market wanted. It was definitelt a decent ski, now it’s become a bit softer but still stiffer than most park options available. Good ski honestly, hella lightweight and super easy to spin around.

Idk look fun nice graphic prolly easy to swap being skinny. Marksman are super fun so are catamarans looking to try reckoners soon

Yeah, not a great ski for “new wave” skiing but it’s a capable all mountain shape for sure. If you like to ski rails and like the jump line it’s a good inexpensive option that would implode immediately a la Line Honey Badger.

I’m convinced the Line guys don’t actually use the Honey Badgers. I remember seeing years ago Andy Parry had some Chronics for sale with HB graphics

how ppl get the impression they are stiff is beyond me.
i had the 2018 sight and compared to the wets (normal ones, not +) i have now, they actually felt softer and more unstable on backseat landings when i did my botched 3s on the 40ft jumps of my local park

I ALWAYS got the impression that they were a noodle. Wets felt more stiff than I expected tbh. But I did try wets on a ridiculously slushy Aus day so could have skewed my experience.

I've been riding on sights the past handful of seasons. I really like them and haven't had any issues. It is definitely a very durable ski and also pretty stiff. Not very new wavy like people have said but if you don’t really fit that box then I'd for sure suggest it.
