Alright I’ve spent the last 30 mins at least reading every single “my full tilts are too loose” thread on ns and a chunk of time googling things too and still didn’t get good answers so hoping to find that here thx. stick with me it’s a kinda long one.
ive got some 2011 FT drop kicks that are a close but not good enough fit for me and I want to see how good I can get them while not spending much money. The two main problems are:
1. There’s always a small gap in my shin area where the boot doesn’t sit flush to my leg, even if I max out the top buckle/strap. This obviously kills the responsiveness and is just generally annoying to me. (before you ask, yes I’ve moved the cable back inside the boot, and no it’s not because my calves are tiny 😠)
2. My toes (and all the way up to the instep part of my foot) has too much movement. my toes are touching the end of the liner when I stand up straight, but I can flex them up or curl them down a whole lot. I can also sorta roll my foot a bit side to side, but mostly just in that lower part.
For solutions, I just bought a pair of the ‘expert’ booster straps online because I’m 90% sure this will solve the shin gap. If you think it’ll still suck, let me know why. For the rest of my problems I’m thinking that shortening my lower cable is a must, and then get some footbeds if it still isn’t fitting well enough. I know the shorter cables can be bought online but it seems hard to find the right length at a non-absurd price so I’m considering doing it myself. Has anyone done this themselves? The bottom cable doesn’t back out because it has a metal cylinder sort of thing crimped on the end. Maybe replace that with a rivet that I can crush on? I’m not sure what would work. Last question if all else fails is what type of foot bed or insole do you recommend? Superfeet is what I’m thinking.
thanks homies
