Replying to Am I holding myself back by skiing Outsiders?
Sorry for talking about these skis again but this has really been on my mind and I really need some input. I mainly lap Wisconsin parks/groomers on packed snow but I have pretty much zero qualms about the Outsider's performance there (if you don't know, it has three stage rocker like a wakeboard and 112 underfoot). My bootfitter last night told me that I'm skiing the wrong ski for what I'm doing and that it's holding me back. I'm confused about this because so far I have enjoyed the ski even on piste and in the park (I only do really basic shit in the park rn tho). I have noticed that my jumps haven't been super comfortable since I've started skiing them but idk how much that has to do with the ski so much as my own ability.
Idk man, they seem fine to me, but I don't know what I don't know. Btw I trust the bootfitters at my shop and have a lot of respect to them; they may be old heads but they have a ton of expertise. Also he said that he'd skied the Outsider before so it's not like he just thinks they look weird. So idk. Who here has skied the Outsider a lot in park/piste and how does it stack up to narrower center mounted twintips?
