I've never skied early season before, but have skied a lot of peak season (Post-Christmas) and never seen anything like this. Is this shit normal for this time of year or is skiing fucked for an indefinite amount of time? This was Copper today (12/12) at like 10:30am

Not as bad as winter park!

Limited open terrain, lots of people wanting out of the house, plus “pow” day. Eldora has been a lot better and has a killer park, if you can snag a reservation.

I was literally just curious if it's always like this in early season. Considering I've been to popular resorts during peak season and not waited in lines that long, I figured it was a valid question. Guess it was not :(

Its been bad like this before in other low snow years, normally there is a lot more terrain open by now. But as mentioned above you've got covid, Saturday, copper is getting more popular and isn't doing traditional reservations, plus it snowed.

Like I said, at PC it was the busiest its been this year, but with social distancing we will likely see "long" life lines.

Not everyone can ski midweek. I get that weekends can always be a shitshow but some people that's their only option.

I love those people, and I appreciate them not plugging up the lifts mon-fri when I’m skiing 😁

True. Kinda sad atm because i have bullshit days off. My days after sleeping are friday sat sun.

Places has been fucked. I dont wanna ride park if i havent slept. Too risky somedays. Ive had plenty if good days but also gotten wrecked. Don't have the crew to roll with yet either. When the snows better I'll take my split up though.

Just sad that I live in the base area of a ski area and not getting out much.

I guess also still readjusting to grave life since was out of work from march till a couple weeks ago.

That lift line was quite small and was like one single file line, nothing compared to how it was before.

Well I hope things perk up for ya, this is defenitly gonna be a tough year for getting good days in, but at least rn we can get days in, I just came home from Vermont and Maine, normally never go this early, I like to wait til mountains are 90%+ open but I’m just happy for anything and actually had a lot of fun, local mountain snowshoe supposed to get 3-5” wed, so I’ll be there waiting for that

By choice? Necessity I’d assume. How do your mountains out west fair weekday vs weekend, are they significantly less crowded?

All the Covid measures + no terrain open = shitty lift lines. Its like this at my mountain too unfortunately. I'm definitely taking slower runs and hitting every side hit I can on the way down.
