Mounting issues(Dont worry a shop didnt do it)

So i recently got a pair of tyrolia attack 11 for an early christmas gift ( shoutout to grandpa) but I allready drilled holes in my new skis for my old squires. The holes are at true center which is where I want the new bindings. I'm pretty sure the squire has the same mounting base as the griffon and jester. Does anybody know if there will be overlay issues? I'm really worried:/

overlay paper template and check, I think it might work, but it will be CLOSE.

No it won’t work, you’ll have to move backwards or use the squires. If you overlay the Attack template you’ll see that your holes will be too close. Go ahead and mount anyway if you want, but you’ll have a very good chance of ripping your binding out.

For reference I dont ski to hard and am on a tiny mountain with no really big terrain 95% of my season. Do you still think I should mount back? and if not would you recomend going forward or backward?

Well if you’re at the center with your Squire holes don’t go forward, that seems obvious. Depends on how close the holes are to each other. If you have 0.5cm, you can probably get away with it. Legally as a tech I have to give 1cm, so that’s how I answered your question. I’ve seen 0.5cm done before but I wouldn’t recommend it. Ultimately your decision, but if you mount and rip out you’ll have to mount back anyway. I would definitely, however, say that if you have less than 0.5cm between any holes, you’ll rip them out no matter how much you ski like a fairy.

dang with i could get some attack 11s from my grandpa. I just get like a book and $30, which is great, but man a set of bindings would be sweet

that sounds like a awesome grandpa! if i were you i would mount them 1 cm back from center, i competed in slope for a whole season with tw pros that were mounted at -2cm. you wont even notice it.

The hole pattern will be different. If the ski isn't symmetrical you gain nothing by being at true center, just go 1 to 2.5cm back depending on what the ski is. Remounting rules vary per shop and can depend on the ski's materials/ core. Don't go less than 5 mm between the edges of two holes or about 9mm from center to center. More space is better so if it isn't an absolute necessity don't go that close.

The skis are 2020 chronics, im unsure if they are symetrical or not

Thanks man, im always a little sceptical of going back for park but im glad to have someones input so I dont rip out my bindings

new holes should be 1cm from old holes. moving back 1cm or so from center on the ski will have little impact on your skiing. in fact it will ski better.
