CatdickBojanglesWhat boot ovens will work for them? Just the FT branded oven? My local shop doesn’t carry FT anymore but they have multiple companies ovens. If other ovens will work what temp and how long?
djloveDo you mean 119C for the temperature?
tomPietrowskiAny of the ovens from salomon or atomic for example will work. You don’t want to go above 119F for the temp. Look at about 8-10 minutes it the oven. Don’t overtighten the boots when you put them back on and stand neutral, not full upright or flexed forward. You can use the ice packs some brands supply to cool the boots down after about 5 mins of standing in them.
kirkwoodmanHey Tom,
How much will heat molding the shells this way change the fit? My B&Es are pretty tight around my arch and wondering if I should get them stretched or if the oven method will work.
Thanks
tomPietrowskiStart with a heat mold. That will get a you good overall shape first. Punching is great for hot spots like bunions or 6th toe but if its medial foot pressure by the arch a heat mold will probably work great for that.
kirkwoodmanThanks for the blazing fast response. Is it un-advised to use a home oven set to the correct temp for boot shells?
