Reservations Question

Hope there are no Vail Resorts employees lurking too hard around here, but has anyone tried to show up without a reservation but a season pass and been turned away?

An entire family got pulled out of the lift line at breck last weekend, there was a bunch of conversation but I heard the ticket scanner say "that's why you don't buy your lift tickets on Groupon"
