Anyone got any experience with old helly tech gear? My ski suit is dying and I got drenched a couple days last season. Looking to stay dry on a budget and wondering how the old helly tech holds up. Or any other recs
two ways to check if the goretex/other waterproof breathable membranes are still functional: shake the jacket or pants and see if dandruff like flakes start coming out, if they do its toast. then hold it up to the sun or a bright light and look for splotches where more light comes through, thats another indicator of a failed membrane. if it passes both tests try tech wash then DWR
I’ve got helly tech professional shell. No complaints. However, watch out for trees with no leaves. I always put my left arm out to protect my face and it has left a few visible scratches that have no bearing on performance. My only gripe is I wish my shell had more pockets
