Had alarm set at 3:30 am to go up snowking and was living in the basement. Renter upstairs decided to have a party that night and it got noisier and the music got louder as time went on then around 2:30 am it stopped but I new i wouldn't wake up if I fell asleep so stayed up and ended up summiting that day anyway.

I never sleep poorly. I workout and take the right supps so when I sleep I enter a world of adventure and fucking for 8 hours

I remember that one night when I was a little kid. I had spent the entire day playing HOMM 3, like 8 hours straight. Then when I went to bed I started running a fever (coincidentally obviously) that only got worse as the night went on, and as soon as I closed my eyes I would instantaneously be transported in the game. I couldn't think/visualize anything else but those fucking knights. I'd wake up every 15 minutes all sweaty from another HOMM fever dream, then be freezing for an hour, etc. While those knights would still be playing in my head.

Then there is that one time we went backcountry camping in death valley, temperature was like 95 in the valley but we ended up camping up in the mountains where it snowed like 5 inches overnight, we weren't prepared for cold weather at all as we had looked at the valley forecast, didn't expect that big a temperature difference. So obviously slept terribly, freezing my balls off all night, ended up boiling water in the middle of the night to put some hot bottles in our sleeping bag. Barely slept and got the fuck out of there as soon as the soon rose in the morning.

These are the two nights that come to mind.

Borrowed a friend's sleeping bag that was "definitely warm enough" to go camping with. Ended up wearing every article of clothing I owned including snowpants and still froze my ass off. Probably got like an hour of sleep and my friends woke up at like 4am to see me outside working out just to generate some body heat.

two nights ago. Driving across the country at the worlds largest truckstop in iowa. Trying to sleep in my backseat and woke up every 30 min from trucks pulling in and flashing their brights. Got super cold overnight and condensation on windsheild froze into an unbreakable sheet of ice. Ended up getting back on the road at 3am and downing coffees. Drove the next 18 hours to colorado on 3 hours of on and off shit sleep.

0/10 do not recommend watching netflix for a solid like 10 hours until all of the sudden it's light outside.
(on a separate note the travis scott documentary is pretty interesting lol)

I went camping with some friends in high school and got "accidentally" pushed into a river. sleeping bag was soaked obv, and most of my clothes were, too. I slept on a moist sleeping pad with nothing but a wetsuit on. It sucked.

Any nights with crazy fevers. I'm so fascinated by fever dreams but they're so fucked. This weird state between dreaming and being awake, but the crazy dreams continue. Hard to explain and terrible feeling. The hell is my brain doing?

Summer camp when I was like 9. We stayed in cabins but each night a different group would camp at somewhere out in the woods. It was supposed to rain the night my group went out but dumbass camp counselor didn’t wanna bring a tent. Flash forward a few hours and we’re all coved up in a janky ass tarp in a downpour miles alway from the main camp. Wind and thunder blasting my eardrums out. Water pooling in our sleeping bags and shit

Never had been so happy to sleep in a bed after that experience

Couple bad nights of sleep stand out:

First one is similar the other camp story, but way less worse. Counselor said we were gonna get a tent, but we all ended up having to "camp out under the stars." Sounds nice but all of us woke up soaking wet from the condensation. Thanks nature.

Other one that sticks out was from this past summer. My friend's friend from work was staying in town for the summer at his Aunt's place with his cousins and she was out for the weekend. We all hung out for a bit, and ended up deciding to sleep over. Some more people came, and it ended up being at least 10 of us scrambling for places to sleep at the end of the night. I got the short straw and ended up sleeping on the floor. I don't mind sleeping on floors, but this floor was a literal pain in the ass. Hardest floor of all time for no reason. Woke up tired and confused, staring at a nice present that their dog left on the floor closer to me than I would like.

Pretty much any night when I'm sharing a room with someone who snores, I've got like some weird form of PTSD from it lmao, like it gives me massive anxiety, so whenever someone starts snoring I basically have to leave the room and find somewhere - anywhere - else to sleep.

Me and my brother in law went to meet my uncle in nea Bay to go fishing and decided to go the night before and sleep in the front seats of his car, whatever kinda weed he had kept me wide awake and no sleep, the next night my uncle had this dinky stinky hotel room lined up and immediately my uncle falls asleep. He was breathing so load then he would stop breathing then let out this 1 load snore, this went on all night and it was so fricking annoying and I couldn't wake him up. I got so pissed I couldn't sleep all night. Was like chinese water torture but with sound. Anyway the alarm goes off and he pops up all rested which pissed me off even more. Not the worst but the most annoying nights sleep I can remember.

Wthout a doubt a night on american blow is fucking HELL. You can stop by midnight but you won't fucking sleep to save your life unless you got a bottle of something to know you the fuck out. All the shit here is cut with amphs and stepped on by the cartel.

The blow from argentina wasn't the same story. I could do a few lines at 10PM and be sleeping by 2 am.

during christmas my grandpa stayed with us. i slept top bunk he slept bottom. I swear to god the neigbors can hear him snore

Boundary waters trip a few years ago in late august, Only brought a ridgerest, single fleece blanket I bought from target and a rain fly to pack light. Rained for 3 days then cleared up and temp dropped to 35 degrees. Wet ground and frost in low places that night. I didn’t sleep very much. Probably lucky since I could have died of hypothermia.

Honorable mention: driving Colorado to Wisconsin and stopping to sleep at a rest area at about 3am cause I was gonna fall asleep at the wheel. My car has non reclining racing seats. But that wasn’t the worst part. It was the goddamn bird that started chirping nearby just as I was starting to fall asleep. That little shit wouldn’t stop and he got a bunch of other birds chirping too. Pretty soon it was 4am and I still hadn’t fallen asleep. I had to drive to the next truck stop with only rage keeping me awake.

there have been many other nights of pure misery and little sleep. Usually due to underestimating how cold it was gonna get.

Had to wake up at 5 am to drive an hour and a half for a preseason employee meeting at the ski area I work at back at home and my roommates threw a fucking party until 2 am. My door was being banged on and shit and my room was shaking bc of how loud the music was. Ended up forcing my ass up when my alarm went off and sat through the meeting hungover and sleep-deprived with nothing but a large Stewart’s coffee and an eggwich in my system.

This is one of the only reasons as to why I don’t miss college lol.

Every night since i started working graves.

But probably the ones where roommates were selling blow and bringing the whole bar back to do it and out ceiling was just floorboards. Not sure if bowling alley or line dancing ckass but shit was cooked.

Also woke up to a strung out fucker fucker in my room trying to buy blow at 7 am once there. And them another guy in the house pounding on doors the next night. Told my roommates to tell their friends to fuck off or i was putting a sign on the door that said "the trap house is closed".

Had to get real drunk to get sleep at that place. Not ideal.

I slept in the bed of my truck down the road from Keystone one time. I was on this shitty inflatable mattress with no insulation so I basically just laid awake freezing the whole time. Then woke up super early and went skiing that day. god that sucked.

Another time I was sleeping in my hammock and these tweakers drove up to my campsite at 3 am. They tried to see if my brother or I had any pills we could sell them. fuckin crackheads.

Strangely I’ve only ever had sleep paralysis while in a moving vehicle. It’s happened on a bus, a plane and in a car. I was aware of everything going on around me, people’s conversations etc but I was completely paralyzed. My eyes must have been at least a little bit open too cause I could see a little too.
After the few addy benders Ive had I just slept for 18hrs plus and had my sleep schedule fucked up when I finally woke up at like 7pm and couldn’t fall back asleep
i stopped doing stims when I realized it ain’t no good for the heart
