Replying to Movin West

I currently live in Michigan and I am sick of this shit. I have been eyeing up the big move to Breckenridge or Silverthorne and wanna get some input from the locals. I've looked around for apartments and jobs and have somewhat of a plan but I'm not totally sure yet. Anyone know of good places to live/work around the Breck area? I'm looking for some sort of construction job because it lines up with my degree but I just need something to pay the bills lol. Also open to roommates because 1 room apartments are fuckin expensive.
