Anyone with experience mounting bindings

I picked up my skis from the shop last night and I noticed that there was a slight gap between the right toe piece and the ski at the shop, maybe less than 1/2 mm, so I asked the guy if it was an issue and he said no. I dont know anything about actually mounting bindings so I just shrugged my shoulders and took his word for it. Since bringing my skis home I clicked into the bindings with my boots on, and now that I look at the right toe piece again, the space that I saw is gone, but the toe piece now slightly wiggles.

Is this something I should take them back to the shop about? My intuition tells me clearly yes, I should take them back, but I just wanted some other opinions. The guys at this shop are a bunch of old dudes that have the do no wrong attitude so I wanted opinions before having to deal with them again.

EDIT 2x: there seems to be no wiggle with my boot actually clicked into the binding

I worked in a shop for a couple years. I would just try and snug up the toe piece with a screwdriver until you clearly feel you’ve reached an end point at each of the screws. Use firm downward pressure and spin slowly. Just make sure to stop if you notice a screw just keeps spinning, so you don’t strip it.

It can happen from vulcanoing topsheet and not tapping the thread/deburring hole. I overcome this by mora ugga dugggas at times



probably fixable until glue dries by just tightening it more, if not undoing, maybe some sawdust into the clue than redoing.



Either way fixable, but yeah ruins the feeling of somthing new :|

Just take it to the shop and show them the wiggle and ask nicely if they could make the wiggle go away. If the shop messes it up tightening the screws they'll help you out, if you strip the screw tightening it up you are screwed.

Yeah, take it back, show it to them and have them set it right. that much play could lead to ripping a toe piece out...

Sweeet! but you really cant catch a break can you?

The cores can take a lot of ugga duggas, and they are not fooked. , I put my powertool on max torque setting when mounting. :D


the reason there is no wiggle with your boots in, is the preload from the dildo in the back

seems like I absolutely cannot catch a break lol. Idgaf tho really... its all happened before my first trip to a hill and i have loads of free time and like to generally think that people dont make mistakes like the ones ive been experiencing on purpose/ turn a blind eye to them cuz of laziness. could be wrong tho.
