Replying to Broken Toe

I broke my forth toe last night (the one next to little toe). It is a transverse fracture. Doc had to reset it. Now it is buddy taped and I plan to keep it absolutely immobile as to not delay healing. ER doc said he thought I wouldnt be skiing for 2 months. That didn't sound right to me. In fact when I raised my eyebrows at that he added "but Im no orthopedic so I could be wrong". Maybe he just said that b/c he didn't want to see a grown man throw a temper tantrum...

Anybody here have a similar toe injury? How long before you were in a ski boot? I figure once I am in the boot the toe wont move...
