Cliff jumping in south east vermont

there are 100s of slate quarries on the vt new york border near fair haven, poultney and down farther. i’ve found a couple super good ones but has anyone else seen some sick quarries in the area? there’s gotta be some people on NS from near here right?

its right behind the green dump boatlauch, i won’t tell anyone my other favorite bc nobody’s allowed and i don’t want the dude who owns it, Dave, to really make it hard to go there

Okay, cool, you cliff jump. Thanks for sharing (really). Cliff jumping can be awesome. However, one major issue I have with folks is when they oversell how tall the cliff they jumped off is. This is quite widespread, and you're no exception. For this to truly be a 50' cliff, you'd need to be almost eight and a half feet tall. This cliff is 30', maybe 35'.

you got me there i didn’t measure but i heard people say it’s 50 and i’ve done what is were definitely 35 and that one was 100% higher than that. i did exactly what u did once and it came out to 49 so i don’t know what to tell you

edit: also when i did it i printed it out and actually measured me and did some proportions but maybe i’m an idiot, i’ll go back next year with a measury thing

But I do agree that people always overestimate the heights of cliffs. It probably isn't 50, but whatever

The same issue happens with cliffs while skiing.

Also are good weather for cliff jumping. All the good spots are quiet now.

measured it finally and it is 47 feet.
