Top sheet damage

on my second day on my new skis i smacked them together on the lift to get the snow off so i could see the goblin guy and the graphic peeled. what should i do? it happened twice and one was worse then the other. i used super glue but before that i used elmers glue and modge podge but obviously that didn’t work

You might have better luck with epoxy and an actual clamp. If not trim the top sheet off fill that area with epoxy let it cure then sand it flat with the rest of the top sheet.

When working with epoxy, surface prep is key. Clean the mating surfaces with iso alcohol and if they match well just use a little bit of epoxy, and if they are mangled, scuff up the surfaces with a coarse sandpaper and blow away the dust with compressed air. Or if you don't care about the graphic just cut off the damaged piece and fill with epoxy.

Also I feel like this should be apparent, but it's worthless to use water soluble glues (mod-podge) on your skis.

Is fixing skis. Grabs random bottle from craft supplies drawer. Lol were you high dude?

JK I'm just giving you shit. I am a fan of Devcon 2 Ton epoxy for most ski repairs, little goes a long way for these type of repairs. Instead of a paper clip, or even a real clamp, use some masking tape wrapped tightly around the repair, it will apply even pressure and wont stick too bad to the epoxy. Also the thinner super glues work really well for fixing minor topsheet chips, but sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and removed the damaged piece, graphics be dammed, ski damage makes you look core too.

I have the same edollos from last year and my top sheets are mangled from this same reason. Granted I don't have any that are this bad I would say get used to it happening as by the end of the season that graphic won't look too pretty

I'm not gonna hate because I probably did something worse than that when I was your age. Just use some real epoxy and clamps. You can even color the epoxy black so it doesn't look like shit.

i prolly shouldn’t have mentioned that. the elmers glue was just because it was pissing me off looking at them with weird flappy things on the sides

Lmao that's quite the top sheet damage from what you described. Get some epoxy, either clear or clear and dye black. Paint a thin layer and sand any irregularities. You can get epoxy dye on Amazon.

Don't worry man! Armadas have that plastic graphics sheet on top of the ski and it just chips away eventually. You can glue it but it will still come off. It doesn't really hurt the ski, as the plastic is just slapped on top of the actual ski so water can't get in if you don't damage the ski under the plastic.
