Will my binding rip out?

There is a small space between the plastic pieces on my bindings and the actual ski. It looks like the metal on the binding is in contact with the ski but I’m a bit concerned that I might rip it out on a hard landing. I can’t tighten the screws any more by hand, should I use a drill to tighten them more? I mounted the skis myself so it might have been an error on my part. Bottom line, should I accept defeat and remount, or will I be fine?

looks alright to me, assuming you drilled deep enough if you can't tighten the screws by hand anymore they're fine. A drill might just strip the threads and make them pull out faster. I know with my fks the very back of the heelpieces don't always sit flush on the ski, but as long the the area with the screws do it should be fine.

u probably just gotta ski em a few times and the gap will go away

No, as long as the metal under the screw is touching the ski you’re fine. The plastic part is more or less just a cover for the adjustability track, the plastic on my attacks doesnt sit flush either.

Awesome, I used the correct sized drill bit according to the chart on factions website so I think I should be good. Thanks for the help!

Should be good, I mounted mine and did kind of a hack job but theyre still solid. Most important part is that the screws and the metal are tight

Sometimes you can back the screws out and then when they go back in everything should be flush. I have done that when mounting pivots.

Same thing with my bindings. I haven't skied them yet but they seem fine... I would assume after a bit it would settle down and be all flush.

Just adding this, if you try to tighten or loosen/retighten your screws it will break the glue seal and then water can get into the core of your ski

Eventually, yes.

when you least expect it, maybe it’ll be landing switch off a down rail, maybe you’ll just hit a nollie off a knuckle.

Once those screws come loose in your ski put some heli’s in- trust me.

Nope, no play between the binding and the ski. I took off the bindings and re-tapped and re glued both skis, they fit a bit tighter now so I’m feeling more confident.

yea thats gunna rip out fir sure, should probably just dump the skis for safety measures

This x1000. Back them all out, re-apply glue each hole, then reinstall.
