Early December Colorado trip

Hello friends — been ~8 years since I logged into NS, so it’s good to be back. Been out of the game and stoked to have planned a trip to CO for the first two weeks of December now that I’m an adult and can pay for stuff. Have an epic pass, a rental car and a positive attitude. Any insight on what hills have had the best skiing so far? Used to be a 50+ day/year skier in Pennsylvania so wherever has the best park setup would be ideal. Apologies if there have been threads discussing this.

If you’re riding epic and want the better options for park I’d suggest Breckenridge or Keystone

also, winter out in CO is taking it’s sweet time so I don’t think we’ll have 100% open terrain at resorts until January, just a heads up.

Breck & Key. You'll be able to make reservations for the weekdays during the week as long as its not vacation days for regular 9-5 folks. I'd book whatever weekend days you need now with your "reserve days" or whatever epic is calling them. Summit county is also a shitshow as far as corona goes, they're just struggling to keep the resorts open and the town from losing a winter seasons income. Wear a mask and you might get some dirty looks with your rental plates lol

Thanks homies, very helpful. Was able to reserve week-of days that don’t count against priority days up until 12/8. Vail and Beaver Creek worth it for a day or two or nah?

Two whole entire weeks??? Ride Breck, Key, Vail, Beaver, AND Crested Butte.

Breck and Key for sure. I really like CB, but it has a really different vibe than other resorts.


I don't mean to politicize this, but please do make sure you are being careful and thoughtful with COVID. We all need to do our part to ensure we have a ski season.
