I dented my ski

I went skiing today and when I got off the hill, I found a dent in the base of one of the skis. It wasn't like a scratch or a gouge, it was just a full on dent.

Has anyone else experienced something of the sort?


Edit: sorry about the low quality, my phone is shit

Edit 2: also it's slightly sperated between the gray part of the base and the right side of the dent.

Did it compact the sidewall or base at all?

It almost displaced it, there's a slight raised bit around the dent, so I suppose it's compacted

I’ve seen my friends have similar issues with their bases. One homie landed on a rock and compressed his edge and dented the base really badly. Leaves ya wondering what exactly causes such an event cause I’ve hit rocks in a very similar way to my homie and ended up with either a core shot or a scrape

If you can just scrape off the raised part with a razor blade Or sand it with some smooth grit sandpaper if it’s that serious. Bonus points if you fill in the crater with ptex.

No it looks like impact, and also base damage is fixable
