I want to ski park again: identity crisis solved

About 3 years ago I think I made a thread about not being super into park skiing anymore, and shortly after that I moved to Colorado and got into pow skiing and a little bit of backcountry, I absolutely love that shit but covid kind of restricts my ability to do that living in Wisconsin. But I have been kinda wanting to get back to trying new shit in the park to tide me over until I can get out west and between trips to Bohemia. Ive been super out of the loop in park skiing, whats new? whats cool? whats wack? what skis are the coolest that won't make me look like a poser?

full tilt don't have them but they look pretty sick and looks are everything in park

jetskis are the coolest skis and if you ride vishnu or on3p you are officially not cool and behind on the trends now. also your pants need to be gigantic and handmade by some random skier guy on instagram

I used to like park before moving to BC. Powder was better but I kinda miss the park.
Id wear baggier outwear that cheaper. Then I would work my way up from the bottom to when I left off. If I get access to a park, Id do some 720s, cork 7 and rodeo 5, be able to 270 on all sides. I dunno, just go out there to have fun and make it look good

I feel that, powder is where its at, but when you've got limited access to it you definitely gotta do something besides all mountain laps and hitting little lips off the side of the run, I've been park shy for quite a while and I think I'm ready to jump back in

No, no one would care and if they did that’s the stupidest thing. Jet skis is apparently the core cool brand now but just ride the skis you like. Don’t get skis because they are trendy, get them because they are a good fit for your skiing.

bro literally just get your hands on whatever you can find, even if its beat up. just kinda look at the style of ur local park and maybe hit the thrift stores to see if u can get anything like it. also waterproofing spray is ur best friend for wearing whatever you want to and having a dope style while ur shreddin it

Park skiing hasn’t changed that much in 3 years. People are still spinning (but not too much), sliding rails, and our outerwear is generally baggier than other skiers.

Dont really get the hype on jetskis if nobody has skied them yet, but generally people still like 96-102mm skis with lots of rocker - longer the better.

Swerving and track pants are kinda over, but skiing with flow and creativity is still cool. Mittens and no poles and chicken wing arms still seem to be trendy for the moment, at least on mountains that don’t have much real terrain. Huge pants and short fitting jackets/hoodies seems to be “the look”, but it’s definitely objectively a dorky aesthetic so it’ll probably blow over pretty quickly like track pants did.

And keep in mind lots of the best skiers are still rocking tall/baggy and that’s still cool too.
