I've been wanting a ski like this for a couple years now, and im thinking ill run the cast setup so i can tour some.
Last year I was on some older 120 waist on3p jeffreys as my every day ski. But I do enough park that it was a little too much ski for that. I think it would have been more manageable in the park if it were softer, something like my old hellbents, but being a stiff heavy chargey ski was just a little too much.
Most of my days i'm typically doing some inbounds runs in the morning, and spend a good chunk of the day riding side country, sometimes i'll bring my pack and skins and spend the whole day out there. and then i'll probably do a couple hours of park at the end of the day.
I typically like a medium or medium soft flex ski, a good amount of rocker and flat or close to flat camber underfoot, center or very close to center mount. and something thats pretty loose and maneuverable, easy to throw sideways and surf around. A lot of my sidecountry or backcountry days is in tight steeps. and for inbounds, i dont care about carving, im usually just popping off stuff and screwing around. my jeffreys for example, are much stiffer than i'd need for my weight and strength, 165-170lbs. I've had plenty of big sketchy backseat landings and if anything would have liked them to flex out a little more.
I will probably be keeping my jeffrey's and MIGHT be getting some new park skis this year, but if these can handle all my park needs that would be good.
Any ideas? so far I'm thinking a custom jeffrey 108 with softer flex, YLE 110, reckoner 112, prodigy 3.0.
