Mounting K2 Pinnacle 95

Hey everyone,

has anybody experiences with mounting the binding of a pinnacle 95 ti further to the front than recommended?

Here are some stats about the ski:
Length: 184cm
Very early Rocker in the front
Binding: Marker Baron

My stats: 170cm, 68kg

I use the ski with a marker baron for touring as well!
Currently the binding is mounted recommended (-11,5cm behind true center).
Ski flows great in powder and turns great in soft snow for playful turns in trees.

BUT:
I get more into freestyle the last seasons (180 and shifties are fine but the ski feels heavy to turn in the air!), so i am thinking about moving it further to the front, maybe -5 to true center (+6 to recommendation).
I hope it will shift more easily in shifties and be able to do the pinhairs on touring on the way up more easily since those get tricky as well with the super long nose.

I know I will loose some float but the deep days are limited to me, so that would be ok for me since im pretty light anyways.

Anybody with some experiences with different mountings on the Pinnacle?
Will I lose "pop" because the camber is oriented on recommendation?

I would watch out for this. This ski is not really designed to be skied that far forward especially since it has metal (ti) in it. If you do decide to mount them forward remember to not dodge the metal plates that exist in this ski for mounting purposes. Best of luck!

Don’t do that. It’s not a freestyle ski in the least bit and will perform like absolute dog if you move it that far forward. It won’t help at all with skiing as you’ll be so far forward in front of the camber, you’ll have a couple cms of contact because of the rocker, and so much camber behind you you won’t be able to turn. The rocker lines are super deep on that ski so don’t do it. Just buy a freestyle ski

Thank you guys!

I guess I will go with another ski then instead of remounting the binding.

Any recommendation for a freeride oriented/ beginner freestyle ski?
I love carving so it should hold an edge!
I thought about the Nordica Enforver 100, but it is a pricey one :/

Do you know a similiar ski?
Preferably twin tips... playful ski for all kind of conditions and to have fun learning new (beginner) tricks.
Maybe Line Sick Days??

For a first twin, I would checkout the K2 Sight. Its a mellow, more traditional twin tip ski. Camber, lightweight, easy to maneuver. Or if you want something a little shorter, K2 also has the Press that is a great entry level twin tip.

I'd also recommend the Line Honey Badger. A great ski that wont break the bank and will allow for you to do whatever you need in the park.

The Sick Days that you're looking at are more of a freeride ski. They do have a tail on them but not as high as I think that you could want when you're first learning tricks. Last thing you want to do is buy a freeride ski and expecting it to be a freestyle ski. Nothing worse than learning 180s and catching a tail on a switch landing because you don't have them dialed yet.

Yep good calls here, the Enforcer is not a freestyle ski and neither is the Sick day

ok thanks! I am definetly not a park skier I would say, my focus is on freeriding so I would go for a ski that work good off piste and is nice to learn some easy tricks, so not too heavy and with a little twin tip.

The blend is a slow but fun noodle. from your desription ref carve, I dont think you will be happy.

Guessing your also a euro? you can get some INSANE deals on misc sites here on prodigy 2020 models, look for 2.0 and maybe 1.0 , like

thanks, yeah I am euro too. I had the prodigy in my mind as well. What do you mean with misc sites?

sport conrad, sport bittl, snowcountry and such, not all has all 2020s still in stock, but check around and you will find some 2.0 collab, regular 2.0 3.0etc.

checkout sport bittel, you might find the collab 19/20 version , (they have 2 collabs) for the same price! (prod 2s) or were you talking prod 3s?

I am talking about the 2.0, not 3.

I saw the Deal on the colab ones, crazy deal for sure!! And also the correct size for me I guess.
Head height would be great I think

I think I will go with a 3.0, maybe I will wait until nex year and hope to find a 3.0 20/21 Colab, awesome desgin and I don't think that I woul ride that ski this winter that much since resorts will be limited anyways and I would put a griffon on it since I have it left over
