Hey guys, just putting this out there to see if there are any 10+ year og's still around. As NS reaches the end of its 20th anniversary I'm hoping to get a handful of y'all to see where you are now, and get your takes on how the site/skiing has changed over time for an article. Even if you don't hit the decade mark I'd still like to hear from you. So for those who are interested, reply below and I'll reach out. TOAST.Who the fuck has a twitter? I mean my friends and I had them back in like 2010 to dick around on, but when did it become the serious social media of adults? Also, who needs to know your every fucking thought, which seems like that is what twitter is, at least IG and FB have more to it.


People are hardcore addicted to that shit. I can barely decipher what’s going on looking at it.

I don’t know how to use it either but I think it might be easier to interpret on a desk/laptop? I haven’t looked on my phone but I followed her twitter on my laptop and it wasn’t bad

I know this is off topic to the thread, but I still use Twitter pretty regularly (mostly via web on my desktop) for news, weather, and politics. Also to keep tabs on a few industry friends who use it heavily to banter.

Holy shit been here since March '07. I think I was active on the site through 2014, then just kinda fell off after college. Started checking back a few months ago...what happened? Did Instagram basically kill all the content here? I remember barely being able to keep up with Ski Gabber in early season then shitposting all damn summer and saying "she's a solid seven..."

Crazy how much this site was a part of my youth, going to comps, camping at the old airstrip w/ random rednecks and hitting the late spring tline park...

Forums in general have just died as a form of web community. Literally all the "famous" web forums from the "aughts" are shells of what they were and people either use reddit or twitter or instagram/tiktok.

Some kid on the chairlift told me about this site in 2009. Thought it was a strange name for a website and I didn't understand what the old school logo was supposed to be until years later. This kid went on to lie about having Jossi Wells and his family over for dinner a few times and all kinds of other bullshit on the few laps we shared. Anyway, I remember getting lots of cool sticker packs, chatting/connecting with Spencer Milbocker (our midwest local Hero at the time) and ChugLife being the coolest thing me and my 15 year old friends had ever seen. ChugLife was popular even among our non-skier/snowboarding friends and the hallways were always filled with someone yelling CHHUUUUUUUUGG!

I like how the site has changed over time. Still the same feeling and format which makes it great. The day this site has censorship like reddit, youtube, or any other platform is the day I leave for good. Long live NewSchoolers, don't change.

as far as i can tell theabortionator runs things around here now. it feels like we entered some shadow realm or the upside down where i’m encouraged to be a shithead, and all the people i remember being obnoxious and out of pocket are now running the show. i love it.

CatdickBojanglesBeen a member since 2008. Fell out for a while due to moves and not being around snow (thanks Uncle Sam). Some of the old stuff I used to post (and some of the new stuff) was super cringe so I started fresh.


Thats good to hear Cat Dick Bojangles. In all seriousness my old stuff was super cringe as well. I dont even want to go back and look
