Hey guys, just putting this out there to see if there are any 10+ year og's still around. As NS reaches the end of its 20th anniversary I'm hoping to get a handful of y'all to see where you are now, and get your takes on how the site/skiing has changed over time for an article. Even if you don't hit the decade mark I'd still like to hear from you. So for those who are interested, reply below and I'll reach out. Or, If you feel like it, just put your answers to the questions above right in here. Thanks guys!

The sign up taps out after September 2001. So technically only 19, but come January I'm going to claim full 20. Been a lurker for a long time and had my 15 seconds of fame back in 08 during the early years of WCS. Is there any way to get the old school logo back in play with the dude doing the 3 tail? What is Harvey doing these days anyway?

Been here since maybe 08-10. Account started in 2011. I think few people realize how centralized skiing used to be with NS. there was like NO park skiing on youtube back in the day. You had to find anything and everything on here. Bigtime nostalgia. The homepage used to be tiled as well and I remember it being a big deal if you got "front page NS". Can we also talk about the view count??? HOLY

RparrAccount only goes back 8 years, but have been lurking for at least 12 total now. This site has been one of the only constant things in my life. Many things have come, gone and changed but skiing will always be something that I look forward to

Been a trip to say the least. Joined NS shortly after moving to UT with my family when i was like 12 or 13 and had no idea this world of skiing existed outside of my shitty little homehill in MI with a sketchy park. Blew my mind that crews like 4bi9, clownschool, and many other scenes going on here were IN Utah and was near it all....joined a freestyle team shortly after cuz my sisters were on Brightons race team and i didnt like racing but freestyle seemed cool and the rest is history....now currently a certified freestyle coach for the very same program i grew up skiing with. Lifes cool, man. Been a pleasure to share all these years with you all. Heres to many more

Started looking about 13 years ago, didnt make an account until about 10 years ago. I haven't been the most active member as you can see from my post count lol. I used to mostly just lurk and watch videos. Much easier to be active now that an app exists.

Hello. I 'member when skiing wasn't cool. But then it was cool... until it was played out and stale. Nowadays kids be doing ballet tricks on or around rails and if you're not grabbing double stale in your switch triple you might as well stay home.

Oh, and member #42 or something. I don't think NS existed in '99 so I guess 2000. Something something Huntney grabs are still cool, prove me wrong.

2009. I lurked for a while before that until I got my first twin tips. Didn’t feel like I was worthy of an account until I crossed that milestone. Learned a lot about the culture & I can still remember reading the hilarious OG threads for the first time.

Been a member since April 2007, cruised around without an account for a couple years before that. I remember going over to my friends house after school, we always looked up to his older brother who was a good skier (and was rocking things like 1st gen armadas, siver cartel, knitted headbands, showing us lifty of the month i freeze, etc, you know the era). His brother showed us NS and we'd get on the super slow awful internet at the time and go on NS, mostly looking at videos. Back when you had to click the link to the .mov file and it would take a while to load up a 10 sec clip. This was early digital file time, but before edits were really a thing. Probably like 2003-2005.

Still love NS.

Member since November 2005. I remember I was a sophomore in highschool and my friend printed out an article from NS about T-Hall busting his ankles on Chad's Gap. He printed it out and brought it to school to show all of us haha. Funny to think that's how we used to share information. Anyway that was the first I heard about the site, and logged in a bit after that. I've met a bunch of friends on here since then, and there's been so many highlights. Crochet cult, backyard jib cult, regional forums, x games threads, NSRadio, so many good memories.

13 years ago my friend made me an account ao I could post park updates. Now I'm still here and I don't know why.



Have met a ton of people from NS. Ridden different mtns, road tripped, couch surfed, crushed it at beer pong, argued with people, given advice, gotten advice, watched dope edits, read cool things, seen some rowdy pictures, and somehow gotten pretty darn fond of this weird internet forum called newschoolers.

Would do it all again. Also tinychat was the friggin bomb. Miss yall. Woo yea winter skiing things cool snow stuff fun!

Started lurking in 01 on the slow ass computers at the public library. Just being a weird ass kid using up all the time they would give me, looking at ski photos. Member since 03. Still have never had a profile pick or changed my name.

The community has changed but that's because the sport has changed. I have so many friends that I met just because they had twin tips. Obviously this website will be different.

I remember in 2009 seeing a guy at my local ski hill with a nearly knee length purple tall t that said newschoolers along the bottom and that was how I first found out about the site. I spent the next year lurking, watching a lot of traveling circus and chug life, learning about Chad's gap, mattresses in pools and seeing pics of girls that were solid 7's. In 2010 I finally became a member so I could participate in Jiberish hype threads. I was really into gear talk at the time, I loved reading about all the details of bootfitting and seeing leaked prototype pics of Nike ski boots. The cults were great for getting trick tips and finding out how to make a summer setup. During class in high school my friends and I saw a lot of 4bi9 and hoodcrew edits on newschoolers, when we were supposed to be writing essays. Around 2015 I stopped going to ns regularly and though I still loved skiing, I felt less interested in the culture around it.

Last year I was feeling nostalgic after thinking about how it had been a decade since I started using twintips and decided to check out Newschoolers again. I found the site to be really refreshing compared to the seemingly endless scrolling of facebook and instagram. Since covid started I've been going on NS a lot more often and am really enjoying it, posting videos and photos is much easier than it used to be and the site feels way more active than it was 4 years ago.

Can't wait to experience all the great things that'll happen during the next 10 years on NS!

Been here since 08. Got introduced to it through somebody reccomending NSTV videos like Chug Life. Stayed for the forums. I’ve made many friends and met up to ride with people on here.

Got super interested in ski gear and still always check gear talk first. Through that I got a bunch of help with building my own pair skis. I then built on that until I got to where I am with Fauna today with having my designs built in a factory, instead of cranking them out by hand, making skis for the kind of people I met through Newschoolers.

I definitely wouldn’t still be here if it wasn’t for the community and Ian Cosco being stupid funny.

I've been on here 10 years, started after watching EDIAS, the 2009 JOSS edits, and Chuglife. I was a pretty shitty member originally due to being 13 lol. The forum itself hasn't changed much other than slowing down, and is the only "traditional" forum I still post on or even look at. It's a nice reminder of the old internet.
