Chuck Mumford has made a successful company. I think they're awesome, and now they just have to scale up way bigger. I had a friend in Israel who bought a pair of Pit Vipers. They do an awesome job marketing, and it shows, also some of their glasses are pretty rad. I think this is awesome, a small local brand has made it big.
I really like Chuck, but I also feel like Pit Viper and the whole vibe of that type of retro/party/80s whatever theme has really jumped the shark. Definitely not what I’m into, but that’s why there is options!

They used grassroots marketing and unique influencers(to say the least) to reach a huge market. They seam to continuity stay true to the orginal brand image but now just have capital to do crazy shit.
Not only that they are staying true to their skiing roots. Skiing is not a good way to make money but they still sponsor Tanner and hook up Tell A Friend Tour. Anyone who is hooking up JahTanner and an activation tour that is based around fun is gold in my book. Shit they gave us 120 pairs of glasses last year to give out. Dope.

It just seems like they have acquired another audience (chads and rednecks) that also rep the brand as well as the outdoor audience. I mean it could be seen on their insta when they posted two guys “cleaning their beards” and a bunch of homophobic chads and rednecks got all butthurt in the comments.

Lol, they sell out like hell.... I bought 1 pair at the beginning of the year, they sold out about 2 weeks later. In October I bought 1 more... they sold out in 2 days after being restocked. (btw I don't know if that comment was sarcasm lol)
That makes them cooler in my book. If a few chad homophobes are getting upset and having their world views challenged by a brand they like all the better.

the thing for me is even if i aint their target audience or their marketing isnt for me
ive worked with the majority of that crew and theyre all good solid peeps passionate about skiing

Props to Chuck Mumford for getting something successful going. That being said. I know where these came from. I thought they were trash when they were issued to me in the Army in the 90's....I still think they are trash no matter what color they are.
