KCoCMTitle says it all. Haven’t tried it before but am very curious to do so. Do I need to be inconspicuous?
Bended_ToenailDepends on the mountain and where you are building it. If you are at vail building a booter in the middle of a groomer you are fucked.
SofaKingSickyeah it depends on the mountain and how chill the patroller is who finds it. but i'd say it's more common for it NOT to be allowed. a lot of places will question you if you try to get on the lift with a shovel too
little_boy_primeI'd be careful. I built this huge gap jump at Alta and ski patrol blew it up, took my pass, and boinked my wife.
BigPurpleSkiSuitAaand then there is alta...

theabortionatorThe move for the shovel is the avy ahovel or even collapsible car shovel in a backpack. A lot of places would never let you up the lift with a shovel.
I get it though. It's a liability. Even terrain parks have a lot if risk with lawsuits. Some random booter in the trail can be bad. And a lot of people suck at making jumps.

shred14Tell the "And a lot of people suck at making jumps." to my friends, they deserve it.
theabortionatorAlso if your mountain has a good park, maybe don't build a ghetto jump in the middle of the trail. Idk, i like building shit so I get it, but when the mtn has like 3 parks in great shape, and people build an almost unrideable jump in the middle of some green run you're like "why though?".
