Replying to Line Sakana mounting point
So I'm about to pick up a pair of 181 Sakanas for daily resort ripping.
The mount point looks super far back. I typically mount 2-3cm back from center, or 2-3cm forward of traditional, depending on factory recommended. I've just found that works best for a more balanced feel. Not much switch stuff for me these days, and this is by no means the ski for that anyway, but we do have some fairly tight trees and I find swing and pivot to improve a little closer to center (obviously).
Line recommends almost -11cm from center/80cm from tail, which seems insanely back seat.
My initial thought is 5-6cm forward of that point, putting 85-86 out back, and still -5cm+ from center I feel like this will be better for popping rollers, and just overall more stable.
My only hesitation is not to fuck with Mr. Pollards design, but I really don't want to drill holes that far aft.
Has anyone played with the mount position on these boards?
Any experienced feedback would be great.
Cheers!
