What's up y'all. Before someone roasts me for being a touring setup noob or rolls their eyes and says "I bet he's never even done avalanche training" know that your boy has. I have been skiing for 10 years in a midwest park dreaming of my first winter out west and finally here it is. Just so happens that is coincides with a f*ckin PANDEMIC which has made things pretty not chill, but I am HYPED to learn and promise I wont set avy's off on y'alls heads.


Anyways, which of these skis would you mount with kingpins? (also taking pin bindings recs) The other two would be mounted with pivots and used for resort/park shredders. I have Hoji PU boots for touring if any of y'all give a fuck about that. Thanks!

Why would you want to tour on a 96 waisted ski out west? Go fat brotha, something like 100-110 would be ideal

Also why do you own 184 ARV 96s but 175 116s? This seems a bit backwards to me

I wanted the 2019 ARV's and wanted to try sizing up at the same time. 177ish is my preferred but could only find the 86 in 184... Athletes adjust

ARV 96 with Kingpins.
Allplays with Pivots.
Sell the other pair to a nice little girl somewhere.

Jkjk. Beat those Allplays into rock skis and keep the 116s fresh, switching between em.

id definitely stray away from the options you have given so far. As much as i love the arv 96s, they arent a touring ski and wont perform for your needs. Id say for options you should look at:
- Armada JJ UL 116
-Line Vision 118 or 108
- Armada Whitewalker
- Bent Chetler 120s or 100s
- Salomon QST 118s

Definitely get that. I know its not a 100% perfect quiver but it's what I got and tryin to make it work. Ended up mounting the kingpins on the ARV 116's for touring (shorter length makes up for weight addage from UL??) ARV 96 are the new park skis / daily. Allplays are backup park skis/ rock skis. I've spent like all my $$ on this shit so it'll have to do haha
