I’m trying to mount a pair of Tyrolia Attack 13 GW bindings on a pair of ARV 84’s and I have everything I need other than the drill bit. I’ve done tons of looking around and I cannot figure out what drill bit size I need. Please help.
I've never mounted those bindings and only Pivots, but I'd go to the hardware store with a screw and get a drill bit right under that size. Just the circumference of where the threads begin.
*edited* took terrible advice out
my B on that

The 12ab tap is what is typically used for taping skis with metal in them. You can usually get away without tapping at all tho. The bit size is usually around 4.1mm for skis with metal in them and 3.6 for wood only skis.

Corey_O132I've never mounted those bindings and only Pivots, but I'd go to the hardware store with a screw and get a drill bit right under that size. Just the circumference of where the threads begin. Then I'd pick this tap in the screw size.
I normally do binding inserts, so not super sure if I'm right here about the thread tap.
❗️❗️ This is horrible advice please do not do this, if you do your holes will be way too large and your screws will not set

For the record you’re correct about the drill bit if we’re talking inserts, but for mounting with no inserts please do not do this.
OP, for the record mounting a ski depends on the construction of the ski itself rather than the binding
a 4.1mm bit works for everything. I personally drill as per the manufactures recommendation if it's listed on the ski. Lots of brands recommend 4.1mm even for non-metal skis. If it doesn't say I use 3.6 for wood and 4.1 for metal. There are plenty of techs who drill everything at 4.1mm and have no issues.
