Flylow Baker Bibs vs. Trew Gear TREWth bibs

I got the Bakers last year and my girlfriend got the Trews. The durability is the biggest sell for the flylow bibs, I put 50 days on them last year and they still look super sharp, a couple of edge scuffs on the pant leg but nothing that went through the material. They are a beefy bib - good for resort/wet, bad for long days touring. Trews were ok, but half way through the winter a seam burst and she needed a warranty (which they were awesome about, but its still a pain) and they never wicked water away during wet days.

If you do do (ha) a whole bunch of touring maybe consider a different line, and maybe I had a bad experience with Trew but the bakers are the best choice.

Had Baker bibs for two seasons, will be switching to the Trew Capow bib this season.

Baker bibs are super durable and were awesome in the wettest of Tahoe days, but fit fairly baggy (6'2 150 and a medium was still fairly baggy on me). Reinforced knee pads were sweet when kneeling down for avy pits and adjusting demo bindings at resorts. Gonna switch it up as they are just a little too baggy / bulky for me to want to tour in it constantly, but I do have friends who regularly tour with them without issues.

Going with Trew this year as they fit slimmer and the Capow is a little more backcountry inspired, which is something I'm looking for. Girlfriend got her Trew kit in and from living room test fits it seems like it will tick all the boxes I'm looking for.

I’ve got both, though I haven’t ridden in the bakers yet.

The Trewth bib is notably slimmer and lighter, and I plan to keep using mmine on most days I’ll be touring. The waterproofing failed once or twice after a hut trip with a smoky stove (my dad has capows and his have been perfect) but after washing and reapplying dwr they’re definitely better. I’m 6’ 170 and had to size up to L for the range of motion to feel ok. Fabric is tough and I haven’t done any damage through ~30 days.

Bakers are definitely baggier (went L in these as well, for resort steeze) but they actually fit better in the torso and have more adjustment potential. Also liking the vent zips on both sides of the legs. Feels like much more robust material and I like the pocket locations better, but they are definitely heavier overall and I’d probably only take them on slackcountry laps rather than on full day tours.

I went with a medium in the bibs and an XL in the jacket. Super weird sizing combo but we carried them in our storefront that season so I tried on just about every sizing combo I could put together. I was absolutely swimming in the large bibs.

No complaints with my Trews, just an all round good bib for resort and the bc.

The Ms would fit best imo I'm 6', 180, and they fit easily. and as everyone has said they are baggy, heavy, dope and awesome.

I've got Trew Capow for a lighter/more touring oriented boot and have had no durability issues. My buddy has bakers and has also had no issues. I think you'll be happy with either so maybe just go off price. If price is no issue then flylows may be a bit more durable
