CAST ISO compatibility w different boots

I'm looking at getting a cast setup but may wanna use my inbounds skis. From what I've read ISO5355 (my alpine boots) is compatible with both the WTR and Alpine plates while ISO9523 (touring boots) only works with the WTR plate? Is this right/should I use the CAST system if I don't want a dedicated touring setup but will be switching boots? Don't wanna blow out a knee or something if the dins fd up w the WTR using alpine boots. Seems like itd be fine but just wanna get some other people's opinions/knowledge/experience.

So now they have an AFD for ISO5355 (flat, non-rockered alpine sole), GripWalk, and WTR. Legally they can’t recommend using an ISO 9523 boot (like a Dynafit Hoji Free or Scarpa Maestrale RS) with the WTR, but I’ve talked to them and was told if they test out correctly, you’re in the clear. But LEGALLY they cannot recommend using any ISO 9523 boot with a rockered sole. What boots are you thinking of using in the binding? I got a little lost

thinking of using atomic hawx ultra 130 alpine and touring boot but they have different soles (ISO 5355 vs ISO9623). maybe the move is to just get a boot with gripwalk instead? really like my hawx alpine boots but havent bought a touring boot yet. thanks for the advice

I was able to go to my local ski shop with both boots and got a new grip on my resort/alpine boots so they matched the height of my touring boots. It definitely depends on the two boots that you are using though.

I had an alpine boot and a WTR boot last year mounted on a heavy alpine set up. I would just keep the other plates in a bag with an Allen and change them out the night before. When you pop of the toe piece its really easy to change. It's definitely tedious but it's the best option if you're not strictly touring.

Definite be wary of how many times you change the soles, you’re threading into plastic so too many swaps could lead to stripped holes

Not changing the soles, changing the alpine AFD with Gripwalk AFD. Only threading metal on metal.
