Marker Kingpin doesn't slide smoothly anymore

So I bought kingpins this summer and used them at Hood a few times and I think some dirt/ash has got into the slider track that allows the heel to go from ski mode to touring mode because it doesn't slide smoothly anymore and feels like there is some grit in there. So my question is, do I need to take the heel off the slider, clean it, and grease it? Or should can I grease it without taking it apart? Or am I complete dumbass and I should do something else?

You mean the heel piece doesn’t slide back and forth from tour to DH mode?

Sure, go ahead and clean/grease it as long as you know how to set the forward pressure when putting it back on. It's not totally uncommon for dirt and grime to get in there. Keep in mind you'll want a certain grease too, I think G3 sells a god AT binding grease.
