One of my pivot heelpeices are starting to crack. The vertical silver part where the arm attaches to the swivel ring is like half cracked and it’s about to break. Anyone ever try throwing a weld on it and did it work?
I’d be hesitant unless I knew the type of metal/steel. Could work but would likely be unable to have a tech work on the bindings or use them down the road for a remount. I’m no expert tho
I'd better try contacting your local shops, because half-moon is a part which can be back-ordered from look, if I remember correctly. Also I saw them at slopestyle ski shop (google) for around 10 bucks or even lower
I took welding for three years in high school and got my certification. I would recommend against welding this piece unless you know the type of metal and have experience with MIG welding. It also seems like an easy enough thing to just replace, so I'd just do that.
