Pool deck snowskate

I wanna buy a snowskate to dick around on this winter, but I can only find popsicle shaped ones. Anyone know where I can find a phatttt (like 10+in wide) snowskate that's shaped like a pool skateboard deck?

I don't want the ones with the rail, I want the ones that sit directly on the ground, hopefully I can figure out how to convert a phat skateboard deck to that

Just get a regular snowskate mines like 9 inches wide and i dont really think a pool deck shape would make a differnce

idk why ur fixated on a pool deck in particular, cuz it makes really no difference, but ambition snow skates are the best out rn. copped one a while back and its so fun to bring to spots cuz anyone who isnt filming or skiing just gets bodied on em constantly and its mad entertaining

Heyyy super happy for you! Snowskating is such a joy!
Yeah you can pretty much mount almost any topdeck on a snowskate.

I say almost because you need to drill a 1/2" hole on the tail to put a leash on, and some materials you don't want to fuss with that. Consider putting a reglet in the leash hole.

A little skate-ey-er eh? Im catching your vibe.

If you're set on a 10" pool deck, I would recommend the Powell Peralta Steve Caballero Chinese Dragon mounted on a Hovland Ram.







For what I imagine you intend to do with it, mount it a little farther back on the ski, not necessarily the furthest hole back, but like the second to last one.

Cop some risers from Harfang snowskates

Gripall xtreme grip.

Put a little bushing footstop on it to help with learning.

Triple coat it with a polycrylic clear gloss to extend its lifetime. Snowskate specific decks exist because typical skate decks delaminate.

Welp! Just saw this. Ambition makes great single decks. No one makes pool shaped single decks cuz that would be pointless.

Yeah I'm just used to a longboard and I'm not huge on flip tricks so I wanted a street snowskate that's kinda boaty. I managed to find a single deck one with metal rails on the bottom but it's super expensive, like I said I think I'll just buy the widest and longest Ambition snowskate and go with that. Really wish there was a 40in long 10in wide one out there lol

ALTHOUGH!! I have a totally baseless and unproven highdea, and you can try it if you want.
I just dont want to bother doing it myself lol.

What if you screwed 8 pairs of rails (16 total) to the bottom of a deck to where the screw was sticking up 1/4" then covered the whole top in gripall?

It would be kind of ridiculous and really directional and very expensive if (when 😬) it failed lol.

But idk it might be fun to fuck around with if you've got boards for the rails later

I personally want it primarily to ollie and grind in the streets so I need kicktails, a powsurf won't have kicktails. I was considering getting the Burton DIY powsurf but I don't have a jigsaw and that doesn't have a kicktail either. Basically I was wondering if there was an oversized version of a street snowskate but I don't think that exists, so I'll just get the 9in wide 35in long one

They don't make them anymore but it's called the Burton Approach, it's kinda the best of both worlds to us since it's simple but has an edge (see how there's kinda a sidewall?) and is faster than other plastic boards. Not sure of the dimensions but I could measure one later if you were interested

if your try to hit jumps and rails, and fuck around on flat ground you best bet is to see what Ambition has, I don't think they have anything super wide tho.

You should check out powsurfs tho, you can't rid them anywhere else besides in the pow because they have no edges and are concaved up, so it would be basically like standing on a saucer sled, but they are better than anything else in the pow. and some look kinda like the old school skateboard design you were talking about. Grassroots is the only company that I know of that still makes em

Yeah the Ambition is fun although riding it is hard to get used to. On my longboard if I step on without perfect balance the trucks will turn the board back under me but on this if I'm off balance I can't stay on. The pool deck shape could be more stable but I'm good lol

Yeah that's just kinda the thing with single decks. So squirrly and slow... Even if I'm just sliding down the hill at my community park or doing something kinda urban, I still ride bideck, even tho I got a Hotdish.
