Just started today. I have heard nothing but bad on the system. People waiting hours to reserve skiing. Who is doing it? Who’s still in “line” waiting?
I don’t have Epic. I’m just curious how Vail is blowing this

weastcoastFucking bullshit. Everyone already has masks gloves and even goggles on. If masks are a foolproof solution then then why are they going as far as making you reserve days?

skeirmanName one person ever that's said masks are a foolproof solution.

intifadaSnowbirds doing a reservation too, we’ll have to wait and see how big of a shit show that’ll be.
BigPurpleSkiSuitIt's a parking reservation system, not a pass reservation system.
intifadaSame thing different name.
BigPurpleSkiSuitnot at all, you can ride the bus, hitch hike, carpool with a friend. So many other ways to get there, but once you're up there, you don't have to worry about not riding because you couldn't get your pass reserved.
207You have a very simplistic view of this whole process. The bus service already sucks and I know you ski only on weekends so even before COVID catching a bus up on a pow day is nearly impossible. Now add in COVID (where UTA is limiting the number of people on a bus) an you'll be waiting an hour or two for a bus at the least (not even including pow day) Unless you manage to hitch hike in the back of a truck the whole way up the canyon I don't foresee many people stopping to pick you up this winter with COVID. Guess you could carpool with a friend but you better hope your friend is good at making reservations on weekend. Not trying to be a debbie downer, I just wouldn't phrase Snowbirds parking reservations as a much easier process than Vail and laugh at Vail over this.

BigPurpleSkiSuitmaybe you're right. I did have the idea of a locals groupme for ridesharing, but Groupme was just not functioning for the one thing it was designed to do. I ought to make a new one on something, be it facebook, or whatnot. I wish instagram didn't limit chatrooms to 40 people or that would be ideal.
SkiBum.Just walk up LCC. Problem solved.
c-friesSo really I mean what happens if it dumps one day and people want to ski? Everyone without a reservation is just out of luck? You better just count your lucky stars and hope for pow on the days you reserved? Basic question but I mean seriously - this whole system is just fuckery to me.

BigPurpleSkiSuitDid anyone else see the guy dressed in Jesus attire who kept walking up and down the canyon last year or two years ago?

skiermanhahahaha, you are such a fucking moron.
b0ss150,000 people is a small number for 37 resorts.
skiermanNot when Park City and Vail have a combined average of 2 million visitors every year....
