Bindings Breaking on Switch Landings

Hey Y'all,
I keep having binding problems when I land switch. At first, I thought it was my setup. I had a pair of squires that would bust the break on like one in every 5 switch landings. This past winter, I upgraded to pivots but have had similar issues. On 2 separate occasions, I bent the brake pretty far just riding a down rail to switch. Thankfully was able to bend it back both times.

I'm never hitting anything that big, so never coming in with a lot of velocity. Has anyone else run into this/am I doing something wrong when I land switch?

Only pair I ever had break was a pair of pivots. It was a an 8 foot 180 to flat.thou. And I'm not a small guy by anything

Unfortunately with pivots it's just a matter of time before they get caught on a switch landing.

I see. that is you problem. purchase several pairs of full tilts and your issue should be fixed.

make sure forward pressure is correct as well as higher dins.

If that dont fix it then just land better

What’s happening is when you’re landing switch you’re landing toes heavy and because of that your heel is lifting in the heel piece enough for the brake to partially deploy and because brakes weren’t designed for switch skiing they get yanked fully on, dumping you out the binding and bending.

Now, while it’s always worth getting your shit checked by a ski tech, toe height, DIN, forward pressure etc the majority of the problem is switch landing technique. If you land switch nearly bolts every time, it shouldn’t happen.
The pivots have a little more tendency to have this problem with the elastic travel of the heel. It might seem you’re still good because your feet are still in the binding but you can lift your heels higher without coming out, extending the brake ready for a bending.
