Yung_Gnarleyforgot to mention: remove the straps from your poles! Would you rather potentially drop a pole or dislocate your shoulder? Lots of things under the snow grab poles and don't let go
DilldoesDurango"Borrowed" ones are the best.
Idahoeu a dogshit human if u steal poles
FitzRoyDumbest thing i’ve done is punch myself in the face when i had a pole catch going switch

CatdickBojanglesOn a side note why haven’t poles with straps that are meant to separate from the grips during a wreck caught on? I’ve seen it on race poles.

Yung_GnarleyThey're a thing, just expensive and not needed by most so the market isn't really there. Leki has a couple solutions including one that integrates w/ your glove (lol). Do people drop their poles a ton or something?
FruitBootProLine poles 100%, love the motocross grip and grab tabs, and the Pollard's Paint Brush's adjustabillity lets you ride em long in pow and short in park. The grab tabs make it nice to ride them without straps if that's your style.
Yeah ik they're not cheap but if you're willing to pay a bit (a marginal amount compared to a ski setup/outerwear) it's worth it imo.

pinkcamo1000yes and the walk of shame back uphill is soul crushing
Murphy802There will never be a better grip
Shh-Rammerusually the ones in a cracked trash bin squeezed behind a door near rentals or the bathroom in the basement of the lodge.

FruitBootPropersonally I prefer the Line motocross grip to any "ergonomically shaped" one, I don't like having contours for fingers and stuff, definitely not gonna accommodate mittens that well. the motocross grip is simple, comfortable, and grippy. But to each their own
chimpansteezeTake a couple sticks of bamboo from the hill, cut em to length, hockey tape for the grips and scavenge a couple baskets and you're styling. Beats paying $100+ to those dirty hippies hawking em online.
FruitBootProLiterally what non-race poles are even within a few dollars of $100
Cade2No poles/thread
