Been out of the ski game for about 5 years. College and boobs are no longer my main source of entertainment, I am back. What's the go to quiver? Are Armadas any good anymore? Who the hell is Sierra?

I am riding on 2015 Armada Arvs right now and love them. I ride mostly all mountain, trees, groomers, back country. Live in the east so powder is not a every weekend ordeal. I have beaters that I use if I want to do some park laps. How has the industry changed? I like a playful ski with a rocker. I am 6' 1" 180 Ibs What's the go to now adays?


ARVs are still boss hogs, they've remained super popular for good reason

ON3Ps are going to be what you hear about on here the most, and they do sound like a good match for you. not cheap skis but they've earned a super solid reputation. lots of good options though

yeah 96 seems to be the most popular for the happy medium, do-it-all option (and i'm of the same opinion) and you even see 90s widths in comps now (k2 poachers which are also a good option for you, stiffer than ARVs for better or for worse according to your preferences; e dollos, though as someone joked above, henrik said he's been using the 86 lately)

96 is the width for never being lacking in park at all but still being able to ski soft snow etc. in my opinion

Swerve skiing blew up. Urban skiing has an even greater focus on creativity versus burliness. Women's skiing progressed a ton (think dubs, urban, etc.) with an influx of younger shredders.

Not as in the focus on NS, but ski touring and mountaineering is getting bigger. The gear continues to become lighter, better retention bindings and stiffer touring boots, etc.

I'm super close to your height and weight (6'0", 185lbs), I am a huge fan of the atomic bent chetler (as someone else mentioned in this thread about it being an all mountain ski now despite the width). It has a really low swing weight and really easy to pivot around with the rocker profile, surprisingly easy to shred moguls with. I ended up getting Kartel 116s for myself last season but they aren't as playful, it's more of a stiff charger ski.

The other skis that were on my personal shortlist that you might want to look into are the moment deathwish, LINE Sir Francis Bacon, and the JSkis Vacation (I own a pair of the whipit's and it is bombproof). Those would be up the alley of doing everything from park to backcountry.

No shit there we were everyone was enjoying amazing spring skiing and then the pandemic struck, billions in danger, lots of trouble and then from a quiet corner of the internet a hero arose @Nate__shredz came and literally saved this website along with billions of lives. We love you Nate please take my wife.

I have a pretty varied quiver and my favourite buttery everything ski is the J Vacation at the moment. Very fun and can be ridden from park to pow, a bit soft for big sendy cliffs etc though

Armadas graphics took off, Line birthed a new kind of all mountain/park/carve/pow ski with the sakana, and roroc kinda redeemed themselves with their new goggles(new helmets still ugly). And poles are making a comeback.

A ski I love to recommend is the B-dog, it's not as wide as everything else and holds up pretty good on all terrain. Or if going switch isn't your thing anymore the K2 mindbender series is dope.

Armadas are definitely still in, Line makes good stuff and the Atomic Bencheltler 100 is worth checking out.
Oh yea and since were gone everyone and their dog got a backcountry setup.

-Scandinavia has become the cultural hub of all things trendy.
-The Bunch is still on one, a little more artistic now.
-Trashparty “:)” never dropped, but their edits are beautiful. And Eirik Moberg from that crew is one of the illest skiers to watch nowadays imo
-Keeshlife & Forre crews are dominating the scene from Lapland, FI.
-KIMBOSESSIONS KIMBOSESSIONS
-Kim Boberg’s “Airea”
-Everyone wears hooded fleece masks when it’s cold, they’re cozy and trendy.
-Alex Hackel came out as Swedish.
-It’s now acceptable to use music other than charting rap in edits, but it’s still common.
-HG Skis Eat The Guts, just watch it.
-ON3P is as big of a thing as Armada, and they make mini movies!
-X Games Real Ski is a thing. A really cool thing.
-Henrik Harlaut is still on top of everyone.
-SLVSH is still going and is a huge thing now.
-A TON of 2-year projects are dropping this fall.

This isn’t even close to a complete list either but dig deep on the website and this thread. You’ll get hyped!
