Been out of the ski game for about 5 years. College and boobs are no longer my main source of entertainment, I am back. What's the go to quiver? Are Armadas any good anymore? Who the hell is Sierra?

Wait what the hell happened with SAGA? I saw a Ruroc goggle commercial recently and was very impressed.

I'm not the most informed on this and Im sure someone can give a better explaination but basically Saga's warehouse got robbed a few years back, and so Saga couldn't fufill a bunch of people's orders, and it seemed like they were just gonna take peoples money and close up shop. They are still open and selling stuff but I think there are still people that never got their gear.
I wouldn't say ON3P is really a new thing, however I guess they did kinda blow up recently. Used to be I was the only one on the mountain with ON3Ps, but now I see at least 10 pairs a day.

SAGA messed up pretty bad and ended up not being able to fulfil orders that people had paid for. Not sure everyone even got their stuff and some people were waiting until well after the ski season was over for stuff they preordered.
Anyways they sold out completely to a big Chinese conglomerate which is the same company as Spyder.
Not seeing any SAGA speeds suits on the WC yet but Spyder does have a pretty stacked freeski team right now including Alex Hall and Maggie Voisin

They had their warehouse broken into and a ton of shipments stolen, so they didn't fulfill any orders for like 6 months. Which is fine I guess but they were super vague the entire time and did not have very good customer service. Then they sold out to a Chinese company, and are being super defensive about themselves and claiming they did nothing wrong.
This is a super shitty explanation but if you look around there are a ton of threads explaining this.

Also Stept and 4BI9 grew up sadly... Tom Wallisch is still keeping park skiing alive; that being said the next move you make must be watching Jake Carney/SIMPLE. Besides that contest skiing completely fell off meaning no more Jib Academy, Free flow tour, North face open, Rails to riches, Dumont Cup, War of Rails, Carinthia Open, B and E invite, which is sad as now the only thing left is Rev Tour which completely sucks.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned SLVSH yet. You left the ski game 5 years ago and that's around the time SLVSH took off. Check it out on youtube. It's probably one of the single greatest things to happen to skiing.

Thanks for all of the responses. I am looking into changing up my quiver soon. I love Armada and have been loyal for a while but will consider changing it up. I am riding on 2015 Armada Arvs right now and love them. I ride mostly all mountain, trees, groomers, back country. Live in the east so powder is not a every weekend ordeal. I have beaters that I use if I want to do some park laps. How has the industry changed? I like a playful ski with a rocker. I am 6' 1" 180 Ibs What's the go to now adays?
