Not sure, but might mean they are replacing either the 18, 16, or both with a release of a 17. Not sure why. Also this year the pivot line released the 15 while they have the 18 and 14, but I’m not positive if that 15 replaced any in their line

I guess that makes sense. The pivot 15 has the metal toepiece unlike the 12 and 14, which means the 15 will work with CAST and be more durable/more elastic travel.

That’s the thought by having it start at a 6 covers the 16 din and it topping out at 17 covers the 18 din cause no one runs a 18 din lol

The 15 was released to give lighter skiers the option of having a full metal, durable binding that didn’t necessarily need the 8-18 release value. They chose 15 instead of 14 so that it didn’t seem like an overlap with the 14.

Correct, but the metal toes actually have 5mm less elastic travel than the plastic ones

Most of it is already at a 90% solution if not more so. much is carryover.
smaller brands that go direct still have time to refine.

Yeah maybe look will bring them on to help so no one gets screwed. Is the cast patented? I guess it would hard to get a patent on.
It would be more likely that look would
license it or totally buy them out and save on doing any r and d themselves.
Look doesn’t seem to have any engineers of their own on staff considering all they do is come up with new paint colors for the same bindings that have been made forever. They also just rebrand different bindings as their touring options. The only new thing they’ve made relatively recently has been afds.
it would be way cheaper and faster for them to just work with cast to scale up production to compete with marker and solly.
Going to clear this up since I worked on these with Jeremy...Those red skis are not actually going to be making their way to production. It was a graphic that was made about a year ago by him for special release/gift when we first started working together. We had a few pairs up a few months back but they are long gone. The yellow ones are the follow up to these.
Jeremy did however work with us on some more inline stuff for F22 on ski and snowboard. It's definitely not the last time you'll see his name pop up here at K2!

Nice! Really love what Jeremy did on these. It’s weird and different for us here at K2 and just pushes more art into the brand which is much needed. I picked up a pair myself and I’m stoked to get them out there this year.

HAHA about the 102. I am 6'2" so I definitely made that arguement a few times around the office to have a 190 Reckoner102. It's probably why I end up on the 112 more. Tall person problems.

anders_ain europe/norway/netherlands etc we just call it problems, not tall people problems since general population is not that petite.
and yeah I got the 191c, in both 112, and 122. and yeah the 122 colors was a surprise.
I know the dutch are particularly tall and Scandinavians are in general a bit taller than average but have you been to the rest of Europe? UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, pretty much all of eastern Europe...not exactly the tallest populations on Earth
haha yeah I've seen tendencies, but it varies greatly, like in poland now the youth seems taller than their parents. I was in the french countryside 2019, we were hitting a club, 8 friends, at 6'3 I was the shortest of the group. The local guys were not impressed, ( I had 5 year french + sis lived there so I can understand what they said) and they were very unhappy with us beeing taller.
