Im all about researching what product i would buy if i ever did need to buy something for a specific use/purpose even though 9x out of 10 i will never actually end up needing it.
For the question “what would you carry as a defense weapon in grizzly/polar bear infested country?”
i have narrowed down to 2 choices.
1 is the AA12 shotgun. It can be fired rapidly and if a bear is charging and gets very close this may be the best weapon to keep you alive.
the other is a sako kodiac in 375 h&h. The 375 h&h round is the most popular round used for elephant and cape buffalo Hunting in africa, so it is surely strong enough to stop a grizzly.
i dont want to go hunt grizzly bears.
but i saw the video of the guy who gets the front half of his head crushed in the jaws of a grizzly and ripped off. Im not interested in that happening to me so im not going to go frolicking around dangerous brown bear country with a little bottle of bear spray.
feel free to try to stop a volkswagon sized omnivore with your little bottle of skunk piss. Im good with the gun, but thanks anyways.
