When are companies like ON3P and Armada going to make face masks for covid? I think they could have some dope designs and generate some revenue without that much production cost. They could do collabs with other companies like Phunkshun, similar to the NS one. Wouldn't that be sick?!

Think the mask thing is a little late now TBH, should have been done in March. People already got their reusable cloth shitty masks.... why spend more money on useless trash?

Funny story. I started wearing those cloth SARS masks while skiing since like 2009. They really make for great scarf! Thought i looked super siiiiiick, got lots of compliments.

Kept telling people I was gonna get them to catch on. Now everybody is wearing them! The resorts are MANDATING people to wear them. Eventually, they'll just become normal ski wear once Saga and North Face start making Goretex masks and shit.

Which brings me to wonder... WHAT IF I STARTED THE CORONAVIRUS???!!!! By wishing that SARS masks would become mainstream ski wear?!!

No idea how it is in PRChina since theyre definitely BSing the world (They just randomly stopped having cases at like 83k or something and stopped informing anyone of new cases because their citizens werent allowed anywhere anyway) and obviously north korea is an unknown...

But everywhere else is doing really well so it seems... Korea has under 1000 deaths, Japan has under 2000 deaths. Taiwan is under 500 I think... Basically all the Asian Tiger countries should seriously just have a travel bubble open up, but Korea and Japan are still at it with their petty bullshit and thats bound to hold things up...

Vietnam supposedly has it under control too, but I cant be too sure of their honesty in regards to that - though they dont have a ton of border involvement with PRChina in the first place and closed their borders early, so Im sure theyre also doing okay all things considered...





All things told things are pretty under damn control at the time being and never hit the downright out of control levels that youre seeing in places like Florida...

Cases in Tokyo havent surpassed more than 400 or so new cases a day since spring (thats just 400 a day out of a population of 40,000,000 who all take the subway every day) - and even that would be a huge spike. Tokyo has nominally averaged about 200-250 a day. Osaka is about 100-150. Seoul is about the same - usually less. So even the highly dense cities have remained without massive outbreaks despite generally being 80-90% back to normal, but with far more mask usage than a year ago when it was only about 20% of the people - when people wore masks more as an anonymity garment than anything else...

It only was really transmissible if people were really sick though.. so once people were sick they went into hospital and 10% of the time they died. It was basically so deadly it didnt give people enough time to actually get it, so it didnt spread so much.



If it spread like Covid19 does, it would be apocalyptically bad.

The citing of the mortality rates by age is so commonly used to distort the narrative and make it seem way better than it is, so I'm gonna break it down for you.

Assuming you're between the ages of 18-24, then yes, that is the mortality rate for you (0.02%). But the average mortality rate in the US is 2.8%. And it's even higher in countries like Mexico, which is at a whopping 10.4%. I gonna assume that you're anti-lockdown and anti-mask. Assume that we lifted all restrictions in the US and that half the population gets it. With the current mortality rate, that's more than 9 million people dead just in the US alone. To put that into perspective, 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust. It would also be the equivalent of having a 9/11 worth of deaths every single day for 8.5 years.

So yeah, YOU are probably going to survive. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be absolutely catastrophic. There are other people on this planet besides you.

Btw, that 0.004% number is wrong.

Wait wait wait... is this the same assuming that was being done at the beginning when they said nobody needs to wear masks? Or the same assuming that was done that was going to put the death totals in the 5-10 million? The tests we have aren’t accurate. Most people are asymptomatic. A large majority of people who have gotten don’t have a strong enough viral load to even infect someone else.

the assuming you’re doing is based on all the gloom and doom of what you’ve seen on the media. This is going to be the new yearly flu. Instead of getting a flu shot; you’ll get your yearly Coronavirus shot and you’ll get on with your day.

Crazy how unselfish Asians are over there. Good for them. all of CT has mask mandates and we've been pretty stable since May or June? but this shit still isn't going away like everyone thought it would. Wearing a mask definitely helps, but it doesn't just make the virus go away unfortunately.

So.... uh... what’s your take on Sweden and the low amount of new cases and less than 6 deaths per day (most have 1, 2 or 3) since Mid-August? Surely, masks and quarantine and removal of all other American rights needs to be done to save the elderly population that’s already over the 78 years of life expectancy in the US.

Mitch said they'll block anything BUT what the Senate wants. The POTUS (Mnuchin in this case) and Pelosi had an agreement for a ~$1.9tr deal. The Senate only wants $500b so they've come out and said they'll reject anything but that and are averse to any real hearings until post-ACB.

I’ve had friends who have gotten it and their spouse that they share a house and bed with never got it. My sisters husband that’s a paramedic got it and she never got it, despite, again, living in the same house, sleeping in the same bed, and not changing their routine as he was asymptotic.

It's almost like viral load plays an important role in severity...

While there haven't been enough studies done on COVID itself, most viruses with higher viral loads transmit more easily to other people, so it'd make sense that it'd be the same with COVID.

Most asymptomatic people have lower viral load levels (again, not all but most) and as such are most likely going to have a lower risk of transmission than someone with severe symptoms.

I had it. Fucked over my plans to ski Tahoe for spring break and any skiing all together cus the day I got better was the day everywhere shut down. It was a hell of a sickness but I mean I'm fine now. I was home alone for the whole time it sucked especially because I couldn't even do homework or video games without getting a massive headache.

Isn't the straw ban just in a few cities in a few states? I think it's only like 4 states and 12 or so cities. I agree that the straw thing is kinda stupid, but I don't think it's really all that widespread.

My take on Sweden is that their population density is tiny, their population is relatively small, and they don’t get a ton of thru-travel or tourism in the first place... so whatever numbers they have cannot be analogued to anywhere in the USA or, anywhere I can think of, really..

Nobody who knew better thought the virus would just go away... anyone who had any education about this was saying to expect and prepare for worldwide impacts for 18 months or more...

masks are only a part of the overall thing... the fact of the matter is too many selfish fucks are going off to Florida and Mexico and partying on the beach or meeting up for backyard BBQs and potentially spreading this shit while being asymptotic and careless and spewing nonsense like “it’s a hoax” or “it’s not that bad” when it’s fuckin still very serious.

Japan and Korea and the aforementioned countries I speak of, all went into holy-shit-shutdown. Japan couldn’t even mandate it by law but people did it anyway... In all prefectures and all islands at the same time - rather than some haphazard and disorganized lockdown..

for like 6-8 weeks in April and May nobody did fucking aaannything over here, and when they did start slowly opening stuff in June, we did so with masks and a gallon of hand sani and they limited their possibilities of exposure...

and now, because of that, we can cautiously return to some semblance of normal. The infection rate never even touched what’s happening in the USA, in like any state... and we are all living better off for it with far fewer deaths and a much lower strain on the healthcare services we have..

7-8 days, pretty bad fever and body aches, I was weak af and disoriented, wild temp swings, absolutely no appetite, couldn't sleep at all, pretty minor cough for a few of the days. There wasn't really anything to smell or taste because I wasn't making food hardly at all or doing anything besides fucking staring at the ceiling. After a few nights without a wink of sleep I started hallucinating sounds in the house like dishes being done and the washer going even though I was alone. The doctor prescribed me Tamiflu without giving me any sort of tests and it didn't do shit. Niether did ibuprofen, advil, or melatonin. Only did dayquil and nyquil help with the fever slightly. It came up on a wednesday afternoon within hours and then went away the next wednesday just as quickly but I was still fucked from the lack of sleep and food for a bit.
Overall, I rate it 1/10 would not recommend

The tests we have aren’t accurate. Most people are asymptomatic. A large majority of people who have gotten don’t have a strong enough viral load to even infect someone else.

the assuming you’re doing is based on all the gloom and doom of what you’ve seen on the media. This is going to be the new yearly flu. Instead of getting a flu shot; you’ll get your yearly Coronavirus shot and you’ll get on with your day.

I don't think you understand how science works. You make a hypothesis with the current data and if new data becomes available then you update that hypothesis. You act like we knew the true nature of this virus in March. Science isn't "assuming." It's making informed decisions based on the evidence that you have. If the evidence in January says that masks aren't currently necessary, then they're obviously gonna say that they're not needed at that time. If we get new evidence, then that changes. You think science is black and white but its not.

Saying a large majority of people don't have a strong enough viral load is straight up wrong. You are just making stuff up to fit your narrative.
