BasedSkierthe pivot heel doesnt offer lateral release, however the turntable aids the toe piece when ejecting on a backseat twisting type fall. Which reduces knee injuries

SuckleBrickits a lot harder to brake an ankle because the side to side release is really good
brentkimballi’m willing to bet no one ever has broken thier ankle wearing ski boots lmao

rice.chexEver heard of Tanner Hall
ParkRxI thought this was a myth. To be fair though, my knowledge is based solely on others claims in the forums. Anyone have any actual sources to back this up either way?
Edit:
I did a little more digging and it seems to be a pretty unanimous consensus that pivots do not offer lateral heal release. On the Look website they make no claim that the pivots allow for lateral heal release. Instead they say the rotation helps prevent early release.

BiffbarfThis isn't true, it just provides a smoother lateral release in the toe.
The main advantages of a pivot heel is superior elasticity and the short mounting point.
animatorThis is false. The turntable heel provides more elasticity. Elasticity in a binding is how much the ski boot can move around before the binding decides that the force is too much, and ejects the boot (adjusted via release setting and forward pressure). They have the most elasticity of any alpine binding and are the best (according to Look) at preventing prerelease. Skiers going real big on high consequence lines and 100 foot jumps appreciate staying in when landing rather than being ejected.

LukeTheWafflecollection of reasons pivots are good-
shortest mounting point of any binding which offers the most natural flex of the ski
turntable heel allows smooth exit of the heel when your toe releases which stops your knee from twisting, which apparently helps your knee to not twist
longest elastic travel of any binding, so they only release when you need them too (allegedly)
theyre made of metal, they will last longer than your knees will
they look sick
henrik uses them

-olivesPivots are dope because when you land backseat, you can really feel the heal piece go all the way inside of you. 11/10 experience
