Revolt 104, so much fun

Just got home from skiiing the new revolt 104, wowie, so much fun!

The rocker/splay/whatever they call it that enables you to effortlessly butter, the 188 lengths also makes landings stable it has more backbone to it than I thought, and actually seems to be able to carve fairly good (only did 2 runs on carve, rest in park)

This ski just climbed a lot on my list of favorite park skis that can also be fun outside the park.funnest think from volkl, ever? maybe except 121 for pow.



Only negative I can say is that it could have had even more camber, but thats also a bit personal how you like it.



Has anyone gotten a chance to test it yet?

When I was at the store on monday there was a guy who bought them with telemark bindings to ride.. park telemark! now that has to be interesting.

That’s a nice rocker profile. Would prefer a bit more camber personally, but I’m sure it doesn’t matter and that they are fun whips regardless

Its kinda hard to tell/describe, the rocker makes them feel soft for butters and such, but when landing off you dont wheelie out, also you can almost drive the shovels a bit, and with centerd stance fairly decent carve. at first glance it feels soft, like say a chronic does for me, but then suddenly it has a backbone to it. its the weirdest thing to describe yet,

yeah the interesting thing with the Revolt 104 (and actually, most of the current Volkl's I've skied) is that a lot of them are stiffer than average at the tips and tails, but their core profile doesn't get drastically thicker at any one point, which to me makes the flex pattern feel really nice and smooth since there's less of a dramatic ramp-up in stiffness in any one spot. Only got to ski the 104 on some shitty summer snow so far but your comments have me super psyched to get it on some real terrain this season!

Doit! Manuals are also so easy/stable it feels like cheating vs other skis. nose/tail press on boxes etc think this could be the flex difference your describing.

I cant wait to try it outdoors and try to see how fast I can go on it, and how it feels in woods etc, hopefully in 2-3 weeks, but until then I will enjoy them indoor! not bringing any other skis to indoor any more I think.



They dont feel featherlight on feet though, it should be noted, but again not heavy either.

My favorite new twin tip all mountain ski by far. The trend of more hard charging freestyle skis is make me a happy guy!

hmmmm your gonna be in between sizes ish, they have a lot of rocker/taper, and are fairly light, means 188 is very accesible as it doesnt ski long/lock you in.

so for "all mountain" + some pow Id say 188

for mostly rails and such probably the 180cm, but... its not really a 100% park ski , dont be afraid to have fun on sidehits/all over.

your height suggest 188, your weight maybe 180? but... its a very accessible ski, what lengths have you been on before?




I've skied mine mostly for park so far but finally took them for some "all mountain" with GF for 4hours(before it was to crazy crowded), we snuck into a black run that was closed, ungroomed with a base of artifical snow of 4-6 inches with maybe 4-6 inches of fresh on top, both layers soft. revolt 104 was fun/stable and not a noodle.. I wanna test this ski for pow now, I never really bought it for that, but the few side pow action we got (it was dumping) it was... fun!



Nollie of rollers are fun.

Not all runs were open, and we ended up skiiing some super narrow steep runs with 99% ice, probably not a shocker, but i've skied better skies there, but was... still probably amongst the fastest...

Its just a fun ski.

Nollie of rollers are fun.

Not all runs were open, and we ended up skiiing some super narrow steep runs with 99% ice, probably not a shocker, but i've skied better skies there, but was... still probably amongst the fastest...

Its just a fun ski.


I've always had around 180 ish, but never really had the ideal ski for both groomers/park and some powder action.

I am really more of an all mountain skier while throwing some jumps and fun in there. I never really spend too much time in the park, but I enjoy the occasional park rides.

Honestly, I am leaning more towards the 180's as I'm afraid the 188's will be too long/heavy to handle.

What do you think?

this means there is a diff of ... 2.6cm aka 1 inch aka nothing

the rocker/taper of revolts are going to make it turn and pivot easy

the 188 revolt is only 30-40? grams aka 1 oz heavier than reckoners

I know Luke at blister skied the 188 and he's pretty light and shorter than you

looking at the data I would not worry about the 188

I was stuck between the 2 and went with 188. I’m 5’10” 165. I’m not planning to use it as a park ski so I’d rather have a ski that I feel is a little too long than too short.

I agree, go 188. It skis way shorter than it measured and in a 188 still only weighs 1950 grams or so. Super light, and the close to center mount will most def help it feel balanced in the air!

Did some search for "Völkl Revolt 104 telemark" and got here!

Have them mounted at -1,5cm from recommended. Not sure about that for all-mountain skiing but feels good in the park. Rottefella freeride has the option to still move the bindings backwards (another -1,5cm)...hope they work like that, wouldn't like to remount. Got to test them next week (hopefully) on more natural snow.

Flat middle felt a bit sluggish at first on turns but you just got to be a bit more active and the ski works just fine. Getting to like these more and more everytime I ski!

Trying to keep movin' and exercise to keep the core/legs in shape.

About the ski: didn't like the binding mounted more backwards...it's gets all "washy"...tail starts to slip out and e.g. on rail slides you got that "on the backseat all the time" feeling. There's so much rocker on the tail (even if it's subtle, the rocker is long). Even on the soft snow I like -1,5cm from recommended, on teles. I guess for alpine bindings, the recommended mounting point is pretty spot on?

Only in moguls the long tail is a bit hard to manage, but the soft spring slush bumbs were still super fun.

The only complaint is that the top sheet chips quite alot - only cosmetical though.

it doesnt really like it, its very happy up to 45-50mph, but for a lot of people that is where its at? if your smaller/lighter it will be more stable and you can choose a bigger ski I guess.

vs others in same class I'd say it handles it well though.
