Alright guys
feeling really uninspired by the offering right now. I have a new Pivot 15 and a CAST touring system waiting to be mounted on a ski. I have an ON3P Jeff 108 in a 181 that I was going to put it on but not so sure I want to do that now so it’s being mounted with an old 14 as my next all mountain freestyle ski.
so I’m 5’11 (6 foot on a good day), 190 pounds, I grew up skiing in Switzerland and France. Currently a senior at UNH skiing a little bit of everywhere as far as resorts, and moving towards more out of bounds skiing this season. Not much of a park skier, don’t spin more than 360 degrees. I do like to land and ski switch, and just generally prefer a twin (at least a directional twin) with a fairly progressive mount point (i don’t like being more than 5cm back from center). I like to charge occasionally, more enjoyable to me to find small hits on the sides of/off piste. Current quiver consists of a Faction CT 1.0 182, Prodigy 2.0 177, ON3P Jeff 108 181, and a K2 obSETHed 189.
I’m looking for a ski around 105-110 underfoot, no heavier than 2000g a ski, around 184-188 in length. The CAST system will be going on it as my East coast touring ski and travel ski (I still go home to Europe and ski with my family there). SO I want a ski that can do a little charging while still being poppy and playful, be able to land/ski switch, not be overly heavy, and still be able to rip the jump line at the end of the day.
skis I’m considering are Faction CT 3.0 184 (had this one last year and it’s a great ski, just had to sell it for rent money because of virus), Moment Wildcat 108 184, K2 Reckoner 112 184, RMU YLE 110 186.
very open to recommendations on both skis and sizing. Don’t want a ski that’s super light or super heavy, but 184 or longer would be great. Cheers!
