dagmars park - park pass system?

after another shit night of skiing lastnight at fagmar i started thinking about what it would be like with a park pass sytem.

so dagmar got a little email today, let me know if you agree.

Dear Dagmar Compound Terrain Park Wardens

just wondering if dagmar has ever concidered putting together some sort of park pass system to ensure safety in the park?

i know on numerous occasions, i, personally have been injured when colliding with another skier in the terrain park, and have witnessed other riders do the same.

the traffic in dagmars park is insane. i would guess that 80% of the people that are in the park are not hitting any of the features. meaning that the other 20% who are, not only have to watch out for themselves, but every single other unpredictable person skiing through the park.

everyone is well aware of the alpine responsibility code and understands how and when to watch for other riders. however there comes a point when something must be done to prevent unnecessary injury and collisions.

i know that trail grades are just a recommended suggestion for all riders. but why are beginner skiers learning on runs that are:

a) double black diamond difficulty
b) designated as terrain parks

again on numourous occasions i myself have collided with riders when taking off on a jump due to being cut off by a fellow rider. and collided with another rider who decided to stand on the transition of the feature.

i believe a park pass system would allow dagmar to use the full potential of their terrain park.

a park pass system filters out those who should not be in the park, and educates those who want to be safe when riding in the park.

it does not take alot of time or effort on dagmars part to educate all riders on the importance of checking all features before hitting, calling 'dropping in' when hitting a feature, and ultimitly respecting one anothers riding, and safety, when in the park.

for example Blue Mountain recently started a park pass system and their park has quickly grown to be known as the best terrain park in ontario. obviously this is not solely due to a park pass system, however it controls traffic, and teaches respect and consideration towards other riders. riders often comment on blue mountains sense of 'community' when riding the park and everyone respects eachother.

i fully beleive dagmar has the potential to house a competitive and challenging terrain park, and perhaps a park pass system should be considered to continue improving the riding experience.
