.nasty3.6x9mm will be the most common size and what most shops will use. Unless the ski is metal (which the obsethed isn't) in which case they'll use a 4.1x9mm bit.
If you're buying your own bit try looking for a nice step bit, which will be 3.6/4.1x9mm. The lower portion of the hole is smaller with the top portion being larger. This allows for less chance of holes valcono-ing over time as well as making the screw go in easier initially then still requiring a good hand tightening once in further, which usually translates to less of a chance of stripping the hole. None of that is necessary of course but it is a nice thing to have.
I use a step bit at my shop as it also doesn't require us to buy 4.1x9mm bits for metal skis, as the step bit will work with anything essentially.
@.nasty knows!
3.6mm diameter for non-metal skis
4.1mm diameter for metal skis
7.5mm depth for Junior bindings
9mm depth for adult bindings
Step bits are the shit! If you are going to but a bit, that is the way to go.
